How to Hide Files in iPad (7 Steps)

Launch the App Store on your iPad and enter 'private files' in the search box.
Browse the apps that result from the search, or search for other terms if you do not like the results. 'Hidden files,' 'Hide files,' 'Secure files' and 'Private storage' will all bring up a variety of app options for hiding your files.
Read the app descriptions to see which apps are compatible with the file types you wish to store. Look for apps that offer high security such as a password that accepts numbers, letters and special characters rather than a four-digit PIN. Check the storage capacity for each app that interests you, which may be listed under 'cache size.' Choose the app that best suits your needs to store the files you want to hide.
Tap the price and then the 'Install' button, then enter your iTunes password to purchase, download and install the app.
Launch the secure file app you just downloaded and read any instruction files that come with it.
Import your files into the app. This may require using an 'Import' or similar button in the app. Alternately, you may need to open the file where it is currently stored and tap the Action button (the rectangle and arrow in the upper right corner) and select your file hiding app from the options that appear.
Open your file in the private app to confirm it is stored there, and then delete the file from its previous storage place if this did not automatically occur when you transferred the file.

How to Secure an iPad (9 Steps)

Tap 'Settings' on your home screen. You'll see a settings navigation pane on the left and a main pane on the right.
Tap 'General' on the left pane and then 'Passcode Lock' about midway down the right pane.
Tap 'Turn Passcode On' at the top of the screen. A 'Set Passcode' window will pop up.
Key in a four-digit passcode that you can remember easily. When prompted, re-enter your passcode to confirm it.
Tap 'Require Passcode' to choose the delay before a passcode is required. You'll see six options, from immediately to four hours. Bear in mind that if you choose one, five or 15 minutes, or one or four hours, someone using your iPad will have that much time to make calls, send emails, make online purchases and peer through your iPad data before keying in a passcode. The shorter your delay time, the more secure.
Tap the 'Simple Passcode' switch to toggle it 'Off' if you prefer to create a longer, more complex passcode using letters and numbers. Enter your old, four-digit passcode in the pop-up window. Next, enter your new passcode and then re-enter it when prompted.
Tap the 'Picture Frame' switch to toggle it 'Off'. Your iPad will deactivate the lock-screen slideshow of the photos in your albums or camera roll.
Tap the 'Erase Data' switch to toggle it 'On'. This instructs your iPad to self-erase after 10 failed passcode attempts. Failed passcode attempts suggest that someone with less than honorable intentions is trying to guess his way to unlocking your device, and this prevents him from succeeding.
Press the 'Sleep/Wake' button on the upper-right edge of your iPad to put it to sleep. Next, press the 'Sleep/Wake' button again or the 'Home' button to awaken your iPad and then drag the 'Slide to Unlock' slider to the right. Type your passcode in the 'Enter Passcode' window to confirm your new passcode settings.

How to Make My Wireless Network Invisible

Enter the administration interface for your router or access point. Use your Web browser to connect to this interface by navigating to the address required by your device (for example, http://192.168.1.1).
Browse to the wireless setting page in the administration interface. This page typically includes options for changing the wireless network mode, wireless network name, wireless channel, and the SSID (Service Set IDentifier) broadcast.
Disable the SSID broadcast and save your settings. The router or access point should reboot to enable the new settings.
Enable the SSID only when performing networking maintenance or connecting other computers to the network. However, even without the SSID broadcast, you can connect to your network by simply manually entering the network name, so try to keep the SSID broadcast disabled at all times.
Continue to use encryption such as WPA (or WEP, if WPA is not available on your device). Disabling SSID can help thwart casual outsiders, but more experienced intruders can still use sniffing techniques to find and access your network. Encryption can help prevent such intrusions.
