Adjusting the Accelerometer on an iPad (10 Steps)
Tap the “Settings” app on your home screen to display the Settings split screen.
Tap “General” on the left pane to reveal settings controls on the right. Skim down to the “Use Side Switch to:” section.
Tap “Lock Rotation” to enable the feature. A check mark indicates your selection.
Press the “Home” to return to your home screen. Hold your iPad upright or sideways to view your iPad’s display in the orientation you prefer.
Push the side switch downward to fix your orientation and prevent your accelerometer from changing it. The switch reveals a red dot on its upper portion, and a small circle-arrow icon displays beside the battery indicator on the status bar.

How to Transfer an iTunes Playlist to a MacBook
Insert the CD-ROM or USB flash drive into the computer that has the iTunes playlist and music that you want to transfer.
Find the music on the computer’s hard drive. On an Apple computer, the file will usually be in the home folder. Open that and then double-click on “Music,” “iTunes and “iTunes Music.” You will see folders with the titles of all the albums in that computer's copy of iTunes.Copy the albums that include audio from the desired playlist onto the disc or flash drive. Copy only albums that are not already on the MacBook.
Launch iTunes and click on the desired playlist. Drag down from “File” to “Library” and then click on “Export Playlist.” Select the “XML” format and export the playlist to your CD-ROM or flash drive. Eject the disc or disconnect and unplug the drive.
Turn on the MacBook if you haven’t already. Insert the disc or flash drive into it. Copy only the albums into the MacBook’s “iTunes Music” folder. Launch iTunes and drag from “File” to “Library” and then select “Import Playlist.” Select the playlist XML file on your disc or flash drive and open it.
The playlist and its content should now be on the MacBook.

How to Remove Movies on CineXPlayer on an iPad
Press the 'Home' button on your iPad.
Tap the 'CineXPlayer' app's icon on the home screen to launch the app. A list of your videos appears.
Touch the name of a video and then swipe your finger from left to right across the video's name until the 'Delete' icon appears on the right side of the video's name.

How to Use an iPhone as an Apple TV Remote
Turn on your iPhone and launch the App Store via the 'App Store' icon. This is the blue icon that is located by default on the bottom row of icons on the home screen of your iPhone. It will be listed literally as 'App Store.'
Search for the Remote app by typing 'Remote' into the App Store's search bar. Choose to install this app on your iPhone. You will have to input your iTunes username and password to confirm the installation procedure.
Turn on Home Sharing within iTunes. Click on the 'Home Sharing' listing on the left navigation screen within iTunes once you have launched the iTunes program.
Enter your Apple ID and password when prompted.
Connect your iPhone to your home Wi-Fi network. If you do not already have this connection established, click on the 'Settings' icon of your iPhone.
Click on the second listing within 'Settings' that reads 'Wi-Fi - Not Connected.' Ensure that the 'Wi-Fi' setting within this listing is switched to 'On.'
Select a network in the 'Choose a Network...' field. There will likely be more than one listing here. Be sure to select your home Wi-Fi network. This will connect you to Wi-Fi. If your Wi-Fi network is password protected, when selecting it for use, you will need to input this password into your iPhone.
Launch the Remote app and sign into Home Sharing when prompted using your iTunes ID and password.
Control your Apple TV by using your iPhone as the remote with the Remote app now launched and Home Sharing and Wi-Fi enabled. The Remote app uses an interface that is identical to how you navigate and browse videos on your iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, so finding and purchasing movies and controlling them on your Apple TV will be immediately intuitive. You can back out of the Remote app and resume normal use of your phone whenever you like. The physical remote that ships with the Apple TV can still also be used.

How to Read a Magazine on iPad
Turn on the iPad. Tap the Newsstand app on the iPad home screen.
Tap the 'Store' button in the upper right corner of the app. Browse the available publication apps and tap the 'Free' button of any that interest you. Enter your Apple ID and password when prompted. If you don't yet have an Apple ID, follow the onscreen instructions to acquire one.
Tap the 'Home' button to return to the iPad home screen when you are finished downloading the publications apps. Tap the Newsstand icon. Tap any one of the apps now displayed in the Newsstand to open it. Some of the apps come with the first issue free. All of them display a screen giving you the opportunity to purchase single issues or subscriptions to their publications.
Tap any magazine to read it. Practice scrolling and moving from section to section. Although navigation instructions vary from publication to publication, read the explanations until you get used to this new reading experience.

How to Turn off the Screen Rotation Lock on the iPhone
Press the 'Home' button twice. The multitasking status bar opens at the bottom of the screen.
Flick the multitasking status bar to the right reveal the iPhone's iPod controls and the rotation lock. The rotation lock icon is located to the left of the iPod controls. A small lock symbol appears on the icon when the rotation is locked.
Tap the rotation lock on. A brief 'Unlocked' message appears. The small lock symbol does not show on the rotation lock icon.
Press the 'Home' button to close the multitasking status bar and return to your Home screen.

How to Draw Arrows in PowerPoint on a MacBook
Click on the 'Home' tab in PowerPoint on your Macbook.
Click 'Shape' from the Insert section of the ribbon. It's between the Picture and Media buttons.
Click on an arrow from the Shape menu. Click and drag on the slide to draw the arrow.
Click to select the arrow. A new tab appears at the top of the window labeled 'Format.' Click on the tab to format the arrow. The buttons on the tab give you options for changing the appearance of the arrow -- or any shape.

How to Delete Favorites in the Facebook App for iPhone
Open the Facebook app on your iPhone.
Tap the 'Facebook' logo to get to the app's home screen.
Press a finger down on the favorite that you want to delete. Hold it down for approximately three seconds, until the favorite starts to wiggle.
Tap the X in the corner of the favorite's thumbnail icon to delete that favorite from your Facebook home screen.
Press the Home button to stop the rest of your favorites from wiggling.

How to Connect to the Internet With a MacBook Pro Tethered to the iPhone 3G
Contact your wireless cellular provider to activate the Personal Hotspot feature on your iPhone 3G. The feature must be activated on your service plan before you can access it on your iPhone 3G.
Tap 'Settings' from the Home screen on your iPhone 3G.
Tap 'General,' and then tap 'Network.'
Tap 'Personal Hotspot,' and then tap the 'On/Off' switch next to 'Personal Hotspot' to 'On.' Record the password displayed in the 'Wi-Fi Password' box to use later.
Connect your iPhone to the computer with the iPhone's USB cable.
Click the 'Apple' icon in the upper-left corner of your Macbook Pro's desktop, and then select 'System Preferences' from the drop-down list.
Click the 'Network' icon in the 'Internet & Network' section.
Click the drop-down box next to 'Network Name,' and then select the name of your iPhone 3G from the list of available networks.
Enter the iPhone's Personal Hotspot password in the 'Password' box when prompted, and then click 'OK.' The password is the Wi-Fi password you recorded earlier.

How to Use Hotspot Shield on the iPhone, iPod Touch
Open the App Store.
Tap 'Search' on the navigation bar, type 'Hotspot Shield' in the search tool and tap 'Search.'
Tap 'Hotspot Shield VPN' to go to the information screen. Then tap 'Free' and then 'Install' to download and install the program. Enter your Apple ID and password at the prompt and tap 'OK.'
Open the Hotspot VPN app from the Home screen.
Select whether to try the app free on a trial basis for seven days or to purchase a monthly or yearly subscription. If selecting the pay options, tap the 'Buy' button to confirm the purchase and enter your Apple ID password. Otherwise, tap 'Try it for free.'

Tap 'Install' in the 'Install Profile' screen to install the settings for the iPhone or iPod. Tap 'Install Now' at the next dialog box to add the Hotspot Shield VPN configuration. Tap 'Done' when the installation is complete. Exit Hotspot Shield.
Tap 'Settings' on the Home screen and go to 'General.' Tap 'Network' and then 'VPN.' Toggle the switch to 'ON.' If you selected 'Always On,' the VPN remains connected without user intervention. If you selected 'Manual,' you must enable the VPN service in Settings each time.
Go to 'Settings,' 'General,' 'Network' and 'VPN' to disable VPN, if needed. Slide the switch to 'OFF' and exit 'Settings.'
Browse the Internet as usual.

Download the iTunes app 'Remote' to your iPad from the iTunes Music Store.
Launch iTunes on the PC that you want to play music from.

Launch the 'Remote' app on your iPad.

How to Use Calendar Programs on a Mac (6 Steps)
Go to the 'Applications' folder and double-click the iCal icon.
View iCal by the day, week or month using the tabs at the top of the window. You can change the view at any time.
Customize your calendars in the menu on the left side of the window. By default, there are two calendars: 'Home' and 'Work.' Add a new calendar by Control-clicking in the 'Calendars' area and selecting 'New Calendar.' Change the name and color of the calendar by Control-clicking on the new calendar and selecting 'Get Info.'
Schedule an event by clicking on a calendar to select it. Go to the main calendar window and click on the time and date at which you want to schedule the event. Drag downward to adjust the time for the event. You can adjust the time frame of the event using the resize pointer at the top and bottom of the event. You can move the event by dragging it.
Double-click on the event and press 'Edit' to enter information about the event. Type a name for the event in the text box at the top of the window. Enter a location, if desired, by clicking next to 'Location.' Select if the event will repeat. Adjust the alarm setting if you want a reminder for the event. Add notes at the bottom of the window, if desired. Press 'Done' to leave the editing window.
Click on the thumbtack icon in the lower right corner of the window to an item to a running 'To-Do' list. Select the appropriate calendar from the menu on the left side of the window. Control-click in the 'To-Do' area and select 'New To-Do.' Enter a name for the item and click on the icon to the right of the name to set the priority for the item. Set a due date and alarm for the item by Control-clicking it and selecting 'Get Info.'

How to Use an iPad With a Mobile Hotspot
Push the iPad's 'Home' button located at the bottom of the device's screen, and slide your finger against the screen to access the home screen.
Click 'Settings,' and tap 'Wi-Fi' in the Settings side menu.
Swipe the switch on the Wi-Fi tab to activate the iPad's Wi-Fi feature.
Turn on your mobile broadband hotspot, and tap the name of the hotspot in the Wi-Fi's network menu.
Enter the WEP password of the hotspot, and tap 'Join.'
