How to Transfer an iTunes Playlist to a MacBook
Insert the CD-ROM or USB flash drive into the computer that has the iTunes playlist and music that you want to transfer.
Find the music on the computer’s hard drive. On an Apple computer, the file will usually be in the home folder. Open that and then double-click on “Music,” “iTunes and “iTunes Music.” You will see folders with the titles of all the albums in that computer's copy of iTunes.Copy the albums that include audio from the desired playlist onto the disc or flash drive. Copy only albums that are not already on the MacBook.
Launch iTunes and click on the desired playlist. Drag down from “File” to “Library” and then click on “Export Playlist.” Select the “XML” format and export the playlist to your CD-ROM or flash drive. Eject the disc or disconnect and unplug the drive.
Turn on the MacBook if you haven’t already. Insert the disc or flash drive into it. Copy only the albums into the MacBook’s “iTunes Music” folder. Launch iTunes and drag from “File” to “Library” and then select “Import Playlist.” Select the playlist XML file on your disc or flash drive and open it.
The playlist and its content should now be on the MacBook.
