How to Use DVI Out on Macbook
Plug the DVI cable into the display, television or other equipment to which you are connecting the MacBook.
Plug the DVI-out connector end of the adapter into the DVI cable
Plug the Mini-DVI or Mini DisplayPort connector into the port on the left side of the MacBook. Open the 'Displays' preferences menu on the MacBook to make adjustments to the settings.
