How to Troubleshoot Apple Laptops

Press the button on the MacBook battery, or on the side of the computer (for models with an integrated battery), to see if the battery is charged. Several LED lights indicate a charged battery; a single blinking light means the battery is empty.
Disconnect the MagSafe power adapter from the MacBook and the wall socket for one minute. Reconnect it first to the wall, then to the MacBook. If the LED on the MagSafe cable turns on, the laptop is now charging. Press the power button to see if the MacBook starts up.
Hold down the control, command, and power buttons for three seconds to attempt to restart your MacBook. You will hear a startup chime if this is successful.
Hold down command, option, and the 'P' and 'R' keys until you hear a startup chime. This resets the 'parameter RAM' or 'PRAM,' which may prevent your computer from starting up.
Reset the system management controller. There are two methods of doing this, depending on your MacBook. Reset MacBooks with a removable battery by disconnecting the power cord and removing the battery, then holding the power button for five seconds. In newer MacBooks with an integrated battery, hold the left-side shift, control, and option keys while pressing the power button. Reconnect the power cable and press the power button to start the MacBook.
Remove any additional RAM you may have installed and determine whether you can start up your MacBook without it. The method of removing RAM varies by MacBook; consult your MacBook's manual for instructions. If you are uncomfortable removing the RAM from your MacBook, skip to the next step.
Schedule a service appointment at an Apple Store or authorized reseller if these steps do not restore your MacBook. They will work through these steps as well, and set up a repair for your MacBook if it needs servicing.

How to Make a Stylus

Select an ink pen and a stylus. The first thing you'll need to determine is if your stylus will fit inside the ink tube of the pen. Your best bet is a narrow stylus and a pen with a wide ink tube.
Take apart the pen. Remove all the internal components of the pen including the ink tube and any springs inside the pen.
Remove any appendages from the stylus. Many styluses have small adaptations which serve as a grip or a tab to help hold the stylus in the device. Cut these adaptations off to help the stylus fit inside the pen.
Drain the ink from the ink tube. You will want to make sure you have drained all of the ink to prevent dripping ink on your device's screen. To drain the ink, remove the pen point from the ink tube. After pouring out the ink, soak the tube in hot water to get rid of any remaining ink.
Insert the stylus into the ink tube. If it does not fit, try using an ink tube from a different pen.
Put the contents of the pen back together. Make several stylus pens to keep at work and around house so you'll always have one within reach.

How to Increase Memory in a Macbook (5 Steps)

Turn the computer over so that you can see the screws around the perimeter of the bottom of the computer. Remove them using the phillips-head screwdriver, then place them to the side. There are two different length screws, so make sure you keep them separate and note which ones go where.
Lift the bottom of the case off of the laptop at the vents near the back of the case, which will also release the two clips which hold it in place. Set the bottom of the case to the side.
Locate the ram in the computer. This is on the left side, just below a fan, and is about two to three inches wide. Push the tabs on either side of the ram away from the ram chip itself, which will pop up the ram. Pull the ram straight out of the socket. If you're installing two ram chips, repeat the process for the second layer of ram just underneath the first.
Push the replacement ram into the socket and push the clips onto the sides of the ram. Repeat this process with the additional piece of ram if you are installing it as well.
Place the bottom cover back onto the computer and reinstall the screws using the phillips-head screwdriver. Turn on the computer. If the ram is not installed correctly, you will get an error message right off the bat, so go back in and double check to make sure that it's installed firmly in the socket.
