How to Transfer a Video From an iPad to a PC (5 Steps)
Power on both the iPad and the computer. Connect one end of the iPad connecting cable to the iPad. Connect the other to the computer USB port. The computer automatically recognizes the iPad.
Click 'Import Pictures and Videos using Windows' in the 'AutoPlay' dialog box.
Type tags for the imported pictures and videos, as an optional step. Click the 'Import' button.
Wait for Windows to import the iPad videos. Once complete, Windows Photo Gallery automatically opens.
Click 'All Pictures and Videos' at the top of the left-hand menu in Windows Photo Gallery. Click 'Videos' to see the imported video.

How to Mark a Book as Read in iBooks
Open iTunes. Click the 'File' menu and select 'New Smart Playlist.' Alternatively, press 'Alt,' 'Cmd' and 'N' (at the same time) to open the 'New Smart Playlist' dialog box. This begins the process of creating a new playlist that filters its own contents on your behalf and will only contain unread books. Ensure the 'Match the following rule' box is ticked.
Click the 'Artist' drop-down box and scroll down. Select 'Playlist.' The next two drop-down options turn to 'is' and 'Music,' respectively. Click the 'Music' box and scroll down. Select 'Books.' The first rule in your new 'Smart Playlist' is now set. Click the '+' button. This begins creating the second rule.
Click the 'Artist' drop-down box and scroll down. Select 'Plays' this time. The next two drop-down options turn to 'is' and '0.' Leave these alone, as the rules are now set correctly for the playlist to only include unread books. Click 'Okay.' The playlist name is highlighted in the left sidebar. Enter the name 'Unread books' and press 'Return.'

How to Get Nook Books on the iPad App (4 Steps)
Launch the Nook application on your iPad by tapping its icon on the Home screen.
Enter your Barnes & Noble Nook account username and password in the dialog box that pops up and prompts you to sign in. Tap the 'Sign In' button to continue. Your Barnes & Noble library will be displayed.

How Do I Turn on Infrared on My Laptop?
Turn on your laptop, if it is off.
Click 'Start,' 'Control Panel.'
Double click on the 'System' icon. The System Properties dialog box will open.
Click on the 'Hardware' tab. Click on the 'Device Manager' button.
Double-click on the 'Infrared Devices' entry. The Infrared Devices Properties dialog box will open. The 'General' tab will be showing.
Click on the down arrow under the heading 'Device usage:' and select 'Use this device (enable).'
Click 'OK.' The infrared port on your laptop is now enabled and active.

How to Install IPA on a Mac
Open iTunes.
Click 'File,' then 'Add to Library' or press 'Command' and 'O' to open the 'Add to Library' dialog window.
Browse to where your IPA files are stored. Click an IPA file to highlight it or hold the 'Command' key and click multiple IPA files.
Click 'Choose' to install the IPA files on your Mac. The apps will display in the 'Apps' category in iTunes.
Connect your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch to your Mac using its USB cable. Once iTunes recognizes the device, click the 'Sync' button on iTunes to install the apps on the device.

How to Reinstall a MacBook (10 Steps)
Back up all your data to removable storage, such as an external hard drive, CDs or DVDs.
Insert the Mac OS X Install DVD that comes with your MacBook. Double-click on 'Install Mac OS X' when the window opens. Click on the blue 'Restart' button when the next 'Install Mac OS X' window opens, indicating that your computer will begin the installation process.
Enter the administrator level user name and password when the 'Install Mac OS X requires that you type your password' dialog box opens. Click 'OK.'
Select your language preference from the list when the MacBook restarts. Click on the blue forward arrow button to continue.
Note the 'Leopard Installer' window that opens. To install Mac OS X, click continue. Agree to the terms of service on the license agreement, and then click continue.
Select a destination for Mac OS X by clicking on the icon of the hard drive.
Click on the 'Options' button and choose an option for installation. Select 'Archive and Install' if you wish to install a new version of OS X but leave your old system files and move them to a new folder called 'Previous System.' This will allow you to recover your files if you change your mind.
Choose 'Preserve User and Network Settings' if you wish to save your user accounts and home folders.
Select the 'Erase and Install' option to permanently wipe your hard drive clean of all data, system files and folders. Click 'OK' and continue. Installation will begin and your computer will restart when completed.
Reinstall any data you have lost by inserting your backup data disks or reinstalling from the external hard drive.

Launch iTunes on your computer.

Close all your open programs. Go to the Apple menu and select the apple in the upper left-hand corner. Click on 'About This Mac,' which is the first link in the drop-down menu.
Wait for the dialog box to open. Select 'More Info.' This takes you to your System Profiler.
Scan the left-hand side of the System Profile menu for the 'Hardware' button, then click it. Select 'Airport Card' under 'Hardware.' If information about the card shows up in the right side of the System Profile menu, your computer recognizes the card.
Take the laptop to a place with free wireless Internet service that does not require a password, such as a hotel lobby or coffee shop. Open your web browser. Since the network requires no password, the airport card should immediately open your web page with no issues. If you get an error screen, the airport card isn't working.

How to Tether a Samsung to a MacBook
Contact your cellular service provider and obtain the provider's Access Point Number. This number varies depending on the carrier that provides network access to your Samsung. The number may also be located in your service contract.
Plug one end of your USB cable into the corresponding port on your Samsung device. Plug the other end of the cable into the USB port of your MacBook. Wait a few seconds for the MacBook to recognize the device. A dialog box appears indicating that the computer detects a new interface. Click 'OK.'
Click the Apple icon in the upper left-hand corner of the screen and click 'System Preferences' from the menu options. This opens the System Preferences window. Click 'Network' from the options provided. This is the gray circular icon in the Internet and Wireless section. This opens the Network Settings window. In the telephone number field, enter the following: *99#. Leave the account name and password fields empty.
Click the 'Advanced' button in the lower right-hand corner of the Network Settings box. Click the 'Vendor' drop-down menu and click 'Samsung.' Click the 'Model' drop-down menu and click 'GPRS (GSM/3G).' Below this dialog box is the APN field. Enter your access point number into this field.
Click 'OK' in the bottom right-hand corner. This takes you back to the Network Settings window. Click 'Apply' in the bottom right-hand corner of the window. The status at the top of the window changes to 'Connected,' indicating that the tether is successful.

How do I Verify a MacBook S.M.A.R.T. Status? (5 Steps)
Double-click on your 'Macintosh HD' drive from your desktop and then click on the 'Applications' folder.
Click on the 'Utilities' folder and then double-click on the 'Disk Utility' application. The Disk Utility dialog box will then appear on your screen.
Click on the drive that you want to check the S.M.A.R.T. status for from the right side of the dialog box.
Locate the S.M.A.R.T. Status field located on the bottom of the dialog box. If the status reads 'Verified,' your hardware is safe, but if the status reads 'About to Fail,' you should take action by backing up your hard drive immediately.
Close out of the Disk Utility application after checking your S.M.A.R.T. status or perform any other changes, such as repairing the disk.
