How to Remove All Remembered Email Address Numbers From Popping Up

Open Internet Explorer and click on the 'Tools' button on the right-hand side, and then choose 'Internet Options' from the bottom of the list. Click on the 'Content' tab along the top and look for the 'Auto Complete' section. Click the 'Settings' button beside 'Auto Complete.' You can do a few different things from this screen. To remove all auto-fill data, simply click 'Delete AutoComplete History ... ' This will clear the forms and addresses, but IE will start recording again. To disable the feature completely, uncheck options in the main 'AutoComplete Settings' window.
Open Firefox and click 'Tools' in the menu bar and then choose 'Options.' Click 'Privacy' to access your history and then click the blue text that says 'clear your recent history' to open the Clear Recent History tool. Select a range -- 'last hour,' 'two hours,' 'today' or 'everything' -- from the drop-down menu. If you want to get rid of all form data, click 'everything,' since you may not know when you entered the information originally. Check the box beside 'Form & Search History' and then click the 'Clear Now' button. Select 'Use custom settings for History' in the Privacy window and then uncheck 'Remember search and form history' to prevent Firefox from recording in the future.
Open Google Chrome and then click tool button beside the address bar, which is indicated by a wrench icon. Select 'Options' from the tool menu to open Chrome's web-page options interface. Choose 'Under the Hood' from the left-hand navigation menu and then click the 'Clear browsing data ... ' button beside 'Privacy.' Check the box next to 'Clear saved Autofill form data' and then choose 'the beginning of time' for the time range from next to 'Obliterate the follow items from.' Click 'Clear browsing data' to accept these settings. Then click 'Personal Stuff' from the left-hand navigation pane and disable form autofill by removing the check mark from 'Enable Autofill to fill out Web forms in a single click.' Close the Options tab to save your settings.

How to Prevent the Rearrangement of Icons on an iPhone

Jailbreak your phone. There is no utility available within the iPhone itself that allows icons to be locked. There is also no available app on the App Store that provides this functionality. However, if you jailbreak your phone, you will have access to apps that will provide you with this feature. Despite the name, jailbreaking an iPhone is not illegal.
Download Springlocker or Lockdown from Cydia. As new apps are constantly being released, there may be other apps that can provide this feature in the future. As of November 2010, these are the two programs that will enable you to lock your icons.
Go into the 'Settings' of your iPhone if you installed Springlocker. There will be a Spring Locker option that gives you the ability to turn 'Lock Icons' on or off. Turn it on to prevent your icons from being accidentally moved or deleted in the future.
If you installed Lockdown, you can stop icons from being moved, and you can also stop them from being opened if you want to restrict access to certain apps on your phone. You can access this feature through the 'settings' on your iPhone. You must turn the 'Lock Icon Placement' option to 'On' to prevent icons from being rearranged.

How to Apply Parental Controls on iPhone and iPod Touch

Turn on the iPhone or iPod touch and tap the 'Settings' icon on the home screen.
Select the 'General' option and then tap 'Restrictions.'
Press the 'Enable Restrictions' button. You are prompted to create and enter a 4-digit restrictions passcode twice. This is different from the passcode lock feature.
Configure the 'Allow' section first. Use the 'On/Off' sliders to the right of each listing to allow or disallow use of Safari, YouTube, Camera, FaceTime, iTunes, Ping, Installing Apps and Deleting Apps.
Select 'Location' in the 'Allow Changes' section where you can limit the mobile device's ability to report the child's location to applications. Tap 'Accounts' to stop or permit changes in Mail, Contact and Calendars.
Review the 'Allowed Content' section. Here you can turn In-App purchases on or off. You can allow or restrict explicit lyrics in music, control access to movies and television shows and limit apps to specific age groups. Additionally, you can restrict participation in the Game Center.
Press the 'Home' button under the display screen to return to the mobile device home screen. The restrictions remain in place until you turn them off in the 'Settings' menu.

How to Clean a MacBook Trackpad Button

Lightly dampen a piece of cloth with some plain water.
Wipe down your MacBook's trackpad with the cloth. Use broad strokes to ensure that you're catching as much grease and grime as possible.
Continue wiping until no discernable grease can be seen on the trackpad.
Take your paper or similarly thin wedge and work it gently into the perimeter of the MacBook's trackpad. If your MacBook doesn't feature a rubberized plastic bottom, run the wedge between the trackpad's mouse buttons. Newer MacBooks feature the same single trackpad-mouse button that's used on the MacBook Pro line of computers, but older models utilize a dedicated mouse button.
Continue running this wedge around the perimeter of the MacBook's trackpad and in between the mouse buttons, if your model features them. Your goal is to dislodge any crumbs or grime that has collected between the computer and trackpad. Brush aside any removed dirt to finish the cleaning process.

How to Sell Fiction eBooks

Research the ebook retailers who carry fiction ebooks. Go to their websites to see which formats they support (such as PDF, Kindle, Microsoft Reader, and so forth). Also try to find the site’s “publishers” page. Many ebook retailers use this page to outline their protocols for uploading new ebooks to their database.
Convert a copy of your fiction book to your chosen ebook format(s). There are services available which, sometimes for a fee, will convert your book to these formats for you. But learning how to do this yourself is not complicated. To convert to PDF, you need to purchase Adobe Creator (the free PDF converters you can download online do not have the feature flexibility needed to create a PDF document which will meet the standards set by some ebook retailers and distributors). To create an ebook in .lit format, you need to download a copy of “Microsoft Reader Content Software Development Kit.” The kit is available for free download. To convert to Kindle, create a copy of your book in HTML format; then upload this version of your book to Amazon’s “Digital Text Platform.” When you upload your book to the platform it will automatically be converted to the Kindle format.
Sign up for an account with an ebook distributor such as “Lightening Source.” While some ebook retails, like Amazon, allow publishers to upload their books to the retailer’s database directly; other retailers get their content exclusively from ebook distributors. Some ebook distributors charge a fee, but the cost is generally nominal.
Upload your fiction ebook to your select ebook retailers' or ebook distributors' databases. Once the book is approved and becomes live it will appear for sale on ebook retail websites.
Promote your ebook. It’s not enough to simply publish your fiction ebook. If you want the book to sell you have to promote it. Create an author’s or publisher’s website which promotes your projects. Invest in online ads. Use social networking sites to promote your books. Send out email sales letters. Be creative. The goal is to make people aware that your fiction ebook exists, and excite interest in it. Ebooks are a relatively new medium for books, which suggests that the door is wide open for innovative ways of marketing and promoting this type of product.

How to Plug in a Microphone (5 Steps)

Locate the microphone jack on your computer. This jack is usually pink. If you do not find one, then you will need to add a sound card to enable this feature. You can find sound cards at many stores, including Best Buy. Refer to your owner's manual or computer manufacturer as to the sound card type you need.
Plug the microphone jack into the computer jack.
Turn on the microphone by using the on switch if the microphone has this.
Check to make sure the volume is up for the microphone in the computer. For Windows, this requires clicking the speaker icon near the system tray clock.
Start the software you have chosen and begin enjoying the features of your mini home studio.

How to Activate an iPad (13 Steps)

Turn on the iPad. You'll see a welcome screen with 'Hello' in multiple languages. Slide your finger over the 'Slide to set up' graphic.
Select your language from the menu. Select your country from the list on the next screen.
Activate Location Services. GPS location, Wi-Fi router signal strength and cell phone tower triangulation combine to locate your iPad. If you're concerned about privacy, turn off this feature later in the 'Settings' app. Tap 'Next' to continue.
Select your Wi-Fi network from the network list and enter your network username and password. Do not set up an iPad on an unsecured network. If your iPad has cellular data services, you can use that as your data connection, although it's better to use a Wi-Fi network if one is available. A Wi-Fi network doesn't have a carrier bandwidth cap and transfers data faster than a cellular data plan. Tap 'Next' to continue.
Select the option that works best for you on the next menu -- if you don't have an existing Apple ID, select 'Set Up as New iPad.' If you're using this iPad to replace an existing one with content on it, select 'Restore from iCloud Backup.' You can restore from an iTunes backup if you haven't yet backed up to iCloud.
Create a new Apple ID if needed, entering your birthday, name and email address. Enter your existing Apple ID if you're restoring from an iCloud or iTunes backup.
Read the terms and conditions. Click 'Next' to continue and select 'Yes' to use iCloud. Choose from the other options as appropriate and tap 'Next.'
Activate the optional 'Diagnostics and Usage' if you want Apple to receive diagnostic data on applications that crash and how you use the device.
Tap 'Start Using iPad' to go to the Home screen. Your iPad has been activated.

How to Download Movies for Free on a Mac

Launch Apple's Safari web browser for the Macintosh and navigate to the Internet Media Archive webpage.
Click 'Moving Images.'
Scroll through the categories and select 'Movies.' Note that many other categories are also available to suit your interests, including 'Animation & Cartoons,' 'News & Public Affairs' and 'Sports Videos.'
Click 'Feature Films.'
Browse through the resulting categories, which include 'Comedy Films,' 'Film Noir,' 'Sci-Fi/Horror,' and many more. Click the one that most closely matches your current film-watching mood.
Choose a letter from A to Z under 'Browse By Title.' A list appears, containing all the available movies that begin with this letter. (For instance, to locate the classic horror movie 'Carnival of Souls,' choose 'C' under the 'Sci-Fi/Horror' category.)
Locate the film you want to watch, then click on its title. On the film's information page, you will see options to stream the film (i.e., watch it in your web browser) or download it to your computer. Generally a standard .MP4 version will be available (viewable with Apple's QuickTime player, which is most likely preinstalled on your system. If not, it can be downloaded from Apple's website). Alternately, Apple's iTunes media player software (also preinstalled on most Macs) will play .MP4 files as well. Depending on the film, other media formats may be available too, including versions for the iPod/iPhone.
Stream the movie. To start, click on the 'Play Video' link. To download the movie, press the CTRL button on your keyboard while clicking on the desired video link, then click 'Download Linked File' on the resulting pop-up menu.
Locate the file on your hard drive once the download has completed. Double-click it and enjoy the show.

How Do I Use A Mac Apple Laptop Computer? (6 Steps)

Push the circular power button on the Apple Mac laptop. The operating system only takes only moments to load. Proceed with using the computer when it loads. Click the 'Apple' logo in the upper-left corner of the desktop, select 'Shut Down,' and the Mac computer turns off.
Examine the icons on the bottom of the screen. This is the 'Dock,' a feature similar to the desktop icons on a Windows computer. Click on any icon and that program will be launched.
Click the 'Finder' icon in the lower left corner of the desktop (it looks like a face). This is similar to the 'Start' menu of a Windows computer. A window loads, allowing you to access the programs and files on the computer. Access programs not on the dock by clicking 'Macintosh HD,' followed by 'Applications,' and all of the programs installed will be displayed. This is similar to clicking the 'All Programs,' 'Accessories' option on a Windows computer.
Click any program listing and drag it to the dock for easy access to the software.
Insert a CD into the disc drive of the Apple Mac laptop and a CD icon appears on the desktop. Double-click the CD icon to access the information on the disc. If it is an installation CD, the software installation wizard automatically loads. As with a Windows installation CD, follow the prompts to install the software.
Connect an external hard drive to a USB port of the Mac. Once the computer detects the hard drive, a removable device icon appears on the desktop. Double-click the icon to access the device's information.
