How to Troubleshoot an Apple Computer Full Screen Display

Check the resolution of the screen. If things are just looking funny and out of proportion, then you have either accidentally zoomed in on your screen or changed the resolution. To change the resolution, click the Apple icon at the top left part of the menu bar, then 'System Preferences' and then click on the Display icon. There you can change the displays to find the one that you want to go back to. If the display and resolution settings do not work, try holding Command and swipe downward on the track pad. This should zoom out from your screen to the standard resolution and setting.
If you're using a laptop, connect to a power source. If your computer does not show any picture on the display, then you may be near the end of your battery life. See if restarting your computer helps. Hold the power button and the 'Control' and 'Command' keys simultaneously for several seconds.
Reset the PRAM, which is done by pressing the power button to turn the computer on and then immediately pressing 'Command,' 'Option,' 'P,' and 'R' until you have cycled through three start-up chimes. Resetting the PRAM is useful for any type of troubleshooting because it resets your computer to the original factory settings. This is often one of the first troubleshooting techniques that Apple certified maintenance technicians will try on a computer.
Reset the SMC for laptops by removing the power supply, removing the battery, and then holding the power button for five seconds. This is an additional option that resets your computer. If it still does not work and your computer does not properly show your display screen or if it does not boot up at all then you may have a more serious issue.
Consult your owner's manual for further tests that you can undertake such as the hard-drive test or checking the hardware and software of the computer through a Disk Utility check, which is done by utilizing the installation disks.
Call the Apple Service hotline or schedule an appointment at the nearest Apple retail store or an authorized service provider. The number for Apple support is (800) 275-2273. Or go to Apple's website (then link is included in Resources).

How to add and remove icons from Mac's dock (3 Steps)

Add a program to your Dock by opening your Applications folder, then dragging the icon that corresponds to the application to the Dock itself. Click and hold the icon, then drag it to the Dock and hover over it momentarily. You can move your mouse to set where the icon will show up--the other icons in the Dock will move to make room for it. When you are satisfied, release the mouse and the icon will remain there.
Change the options of a program that is already running by right-clicking on the icon (for single-button mice, press the 'Ctrl' key and click), hover over 'Options,' then click 'Keep in Dock.' The icon will remain in the Dock until you choose to remove it.
Remove an icon from the Dock by clicking and holding it, then dragging it off the Dock onto a blank part of your screen and releasing your mouse. The icon will vanish in a puff of smoke-literally. The icon will not reappear in your Dock unless you open the program via another shortcut, and it will not remain there unless you right-click to change its options.

How to Connect a MacBook With Another Laptop (10 Steps)

Turn the 'second' computer off. Connect the two computers to each end of a FireWire cable. If one computer doesn't have a FireWire port, you can also use an Ethernet cable to connect the two computers.
Turn the second computer on while holding down the 'T' key. This activates the second computer in question as a terminal or target disk; it will show up on the desktop of the main computer as a second hard drive. This only works if you use a FireWire connection; if you have created an Ethernet connection between the two computers, simply turn both of them on.
Manipulate the information from either computer via the primary MacBook if you're using a FireWire connection. If you're using an Ethernet connection you can use either computer as the main terminal, and you'll need to select the 'Sharing' pane of your System Preferences panel and enable the 'Internet Sharing' feature on the MacBook with the Ethernet box checked.
Click the small 'eject' button next to the target disk in your Finder display to disconnect the two computers. Alternatively, you can locate the icon for the target computer on your desktop and drag it to the desktop trash bin to disconnect the two computers. This is only necessary for the FireWire method.
Press the power button on the second computer to power it off. The primary computer can stay powered on throughout the whole procedure.
