How to Sync Mac Laptop to Mac Desktop (5 Steps)


Connect the power port on the MagSafe connector into the power connection on the MacBook. This allows you to charge the laptop while it is connected to the desktop display.
Insert the USB cable, also running out of the MagSafe cable, into one of the USB ports on the side of the Macbook.
Connect the mini DVI cable (also part of the MagSafe connector) into the mini DVI connection port, located on the left side of the MacBook computer.
Insert the opposite end of the MagSafe cable (a single USB cable) into one of the self-powered USB ports, located on the rear of the Mac desktop display.
Power on the MacBook and the desktop display. The content of the laptop now syncs with the desktop.

How to Connect a Samsung Flat Screen HDTV LCD to a MacBook


Power down your MacBook and change your Samsung's input to either the VGA input or to the HDMI input. This will be dependent on the cable connection you decided to use or that your MacBook allows.
Connect the Mini DVI or Displayport end of the connection cable to your MacBook. Connect one end of the VGA or HDMI cable to the female portion of the cable connected to your Mac and the other end to either the VGA port of your Samsung or an available HDMI port.
Power on your MacBook. It will automatically detect that the Samsung is connected and change your settings accordingly.
Edit your Display preferences via the System Preferences menu. Choose the settings that best suit your needs.
Connect audio by connecting the 3.5mm audio end to your MacBook the red and white RCA cables to your television audio inputs.

How to Unsync the iPhone from iTunes Manually


Launch iTunes on your old computer and connect your iPhone using the USB cable. If your iPhone usually syncs with your computer over your Wi-Fi network, then ensure it is connected to iTunes. Your phone's name should appear in the iTunes menu bar in both connection cases.
Click on your phone's name in the iTunes menu bar.
Click the 'Summary' tab and ensure the check box next to 'Manually manage music and videos' is checked.

How to Sync an iPad With a Mac


Connect the iPad. Plug the wide end of the iPad cable into the connector port on the bottom of the tablet device; press firmly but gently until the cable is in place. Plug the narrow end into the USB port on the Mac computer.
Launch iTunes. According to Apple, iTunes should automatically launch when it detects a connected iPad. If iTunes does not launch, find the iTunes icon, which resembles a musical note inside a circle, in the dock at the bottom of the screen. Click on it one time. The icon will begin to bounce as the application opens.
Select the items to sync. iTunes can synchronize a wide array of information with an iPad, and the iTunes default settings allow the application to synchronize all music, podcasts, movies, TV shows and applications contained in iTunes with the iPad. To select additional content, including contacts, photos and videos not already in iTunes, click on the iPad icon in the left column of the iTunes window, and select the desired content from the iPad 'Info' window.
Synchronize. If the iPad summary window is not already displayed in iTunes, click the iPad icon in the left column, and then click 'Summary' at the top of the iTunes application. A 'Sync' button will appear in the lower portion of the iTunes window; click on it.

Click 'Finder' in the Dock.
Select the 'Finder' menu and select 'Preferences...' from the drop-down menu.
Select the 'General' tab and check the 'Connected Servers' box. This shows any connected servers on your desktop.
Click 'Finder' again and select the network you want to access from the Shared section.
Double-click any of the folders on the network server to mount them and add them to your desktop. To create a permanent shortcut that appears regardless of the current connection to the server, drag folders or files from the server to the desktop. This creates a shortcut on your desktop.

How to Convert Cassette Tapes to CD for Mac (9 Steps)


Download 'Audacity.' This is a free audio editing program made for Mac computers. A link to the download page is available in 'Resources.'
Connect the RCA to 3.5 mm headphones jack into the microphone port on the Mac. This adapter has a single end that looks exactly like the end on a pair of headphones. The other end of the adapter has a red and white port used to connect RCA cables.
Plug the red and white RCA cables into the Audio Out ports on the back of a tape deck. This is typically where the speakers are connected. Connect the other end of the RCA cables to the RCA ports on the 3.5 mm headphones adapter.
Launch the Audacity program. There is an icon on your desktop for it.
Click the 'Default Input Source' setting. This brings up a list of the devices connected to the Mac. It is currently set to the default microphone connected internally to your Mac. Change this to 'Line In.'
Click the 'System Preferences' icon on your dock (it looks like clock gears) and select 'Sound.' Things brings up a small options window. Select the 'Input' tab and click on 'Line In.' Close out the System Preferences and return to Audacity.
Put the tape into the tape player and press the 'Play' button. At the same time click the 'Record' button on Audacity. This begins the recording process. Click 'Stop' at the end of the first song. Select 'File' followed by 'Export as MP3.' This brings up a save window. Title the file and select a location to save to.
Repeat the recording process for all tracks on your cassette tape.
Launch iTunes and click 'File,' then 'New Playlist.' Title the playlist, then click and drag the files you created from the tape into the program. Insert a blank CD into the Mac and click 'Burn.' The songs are now placed onto the music CD.

Connect your Wi-Fi printer to the network by entering your network name and password through the printer's menu. To use printer sharing, connect a printer without Wi-Fi to another Mac. You will need to enable sharing before the printer can be discovered by the MacBook Air.
Enable sharing of the networked printer on the computer it is connected to by clicking the Apple menu, then 'System Preferences' then 'Printer & Fax.' Click on the printer from the list and select 'Share this printer.'
Navigate to the 'Printer & Fax' menu on your MacBook Air. Click 'Add' to set up a printer. Click 'Default' to search for the Wi-Fi or shared printer. Select the printer and click 'Add.' Now when you print something, you can choose the printer from the drop-down menu of the prompt.

How to Fix a Computer Screen That Turned Grey


Look at the back of your monitor just below the socket for a voltage selector. Set the voltage appropriate to your country, if it isn't in the correct position already. For a monitor in USA, the voltage is 115 volts.
Check the display cable to make sure it is properly connected with the metal connector engulfing the display socket on the computer.
Disconnect the monitor's display cable and look at its pins. If any of them appear bent, straighten them out by disconnecting the power cable from your monitor and sticking a thin metal object next to the pin and levering the pin until it appears straight again.
Adjust the brightness and contrast knobs on the monitor. The settings may have been at minimum or maximum; adjusting the knobs will help return the settings back to an optimal position.

Check your internet connection, and be sure that you can access the internet on another page. Server errors will show up if you are not connected to the internet.

Download and install the iTunes Agent software from ita.sourceforge.net.
Connect the Galaxy S to your computer using the appropriate USB cable.
Slide down the Android notification drawer once the device is connected to your computer and select 'USB Connected,' then tap 'Mount.'
Click 'Start,' then 'Computer' and double-click the Galaxy S device icon.
Click 'File' and select 'New,' then 'Folder.' Type 'Music' as the name for the folder.
Right-click the iTunes Agent notification icon located beside the clock in the system tray, and select 'Preferences.'

Click the triangle beside the 'My Devices' folder in the 'Playlists' section of the iTunes sidebar to display the 'Galaxy S' playlist option.
Drag and drop music that you want to sync to your Galaxy S from the iTunes library to the Galaxy S playlist.
Right-click the iTunes Agent notification icon in the system tray and select 'Synchronize devices' to sync your Galaxy S with iTunes.

How to Copy Burn a DVD on a MacBook


Insert a DVD into the disc drive of the MacBook. Wait for the system to recognize the disc and place a DVD icon on the desktop.
Open the Disk Utility software located inside the Utilities section of the Applications folder (see 1st reference).
Select the DVD disc from the list of connected drives and inserted media in the left frame.
Click the 'New Image' button in the top bracket. Enter a location and name for the disk image and click 'Save' (see Reference 2). Note that DVD discs can take up several gigabytes of hard drive space, so select a drive with adequate space as the destination.

How to Repair the Power Port on an Apple Laptop


Remove the battery. Turn the laptop upside down and press the two buttons below the battery. Remove the memory cover by unscrewing the three screws that the removed battery exposes. Remove the two screws against the opposite wall of the battery slot, as well as the Torx screws that are exposed directly beneath the battery. Additionally, remove the hinge screws at the edge of the laptop where the screen is connected. Remove the screws on the port side of the computer. This is the side opposite the power port. Remove the screws at the rear as well as the screws on the power port side of the laptop. You now should have removed all of the screws exposed by removing the memory door and the battery as well as all of the screws exposed externally.
Slide your finger around the plastic panel near the keyboard. The entire top of the laptop below the screen should pop off. Continue to gently pry around the edges as it comes up. Remove its connections to the motherboard.
Remove the fan by disconnecting it from its various connectors. If the laptop is oriented as it would be during use, the fan will be located in the upper left-hand corner. Remove the two screws holding it in place. This will expose the Airport card. Detach the antenna cables that are connected to it. Remove the single screw that holds it in place, and lift the airport card out of the computer gently.
Disconnect the speaker from the left IO board. It's located below where the Airport card was. Remove the speaker. This is in the upper left hand corner of the laptop if it's oriented normally. Disconnect the power cable on the IO board, unscrew the remaining screws holding it in place and remove it.
Insert the new left IO board, and reverse the previous steps.

How to Connect MacBook Pro to a Power Mac G4 (6 Steps)


Verify that your MacBook Pro is completely turned off and disconnect any other FireWire devices that may be attached to it. Disconnect all FireWire devices from your Power Mac G4 as well. If you have an external FireWire hard drive connected to either computer, then that computer must be shut down or you must click and drag the hard drive's icon to the trashcan icon before you disconnect it.
Connect the FireWire cable from your MacBook Pro to your Power Mac G4.
Turn on your MacBook Pro and hold down the 'T' key on your keyboard until a yellow FireWire hard drive icon appears on your Power Mac G4's desktop.
Transfer all the files you need to between the two computers.
Click and drag the FireWire drive icon for your MacBook Pro to your PowerMac G4's trashcan icon when you're finished. Click the Apple menu and select 'Shut Down' on your MacBook Pro to turn it off.
Make sure that your MacBook Pro is completely turned off and then disconnect the FireWire cable.

How to Add Movies to an iPod Without Syncing (9 Steps)


Connect your iPod Touch to the computer with the iPod USB cable.
Open the iTunes program (if it has not already been automatically started).
Verify that your iPod Touch has been successfully connected to the computer by locating the iPod icon under 'Devices' in the left sidebar of the iTunes window.
Stop the iPod from syncing by sliding the bar across the touch screen to cancel it as soon as it's connected.
Click on the device in the sidebar to pull up all of the iPod's statistics in the iTunes window.
Uncheck the box that allows iTunes to automatically sync your movies and videos to prevent it from syncing your iPod every time it's connected. This will allow you to manually manage what you add or delete from your iPod.
Click 'Movies' in your library in the left sidebar of the iTunes window.
Click on the movie you wish you add to your iPod Touch, then drag it over the iPod icon under 'Devices.'
Drop the file on to your iPod Touch to successfully add it to the device.
