How to Disable Sleep Mode on a MacBook (8 Steps)


Click on the 'System Preferences' icon in the dock on the bottom of the screen.
Click on 'Energy Saver' (lightbulb icon) in the System Preferences window.
Click and hold the slider on the sliding scale labeled 'Put the computer to sleep when it is inactive for:' and slide it all the way to the right, to 'Never.' This sets the sleep preference for your current power source, either battery or power adapter.
Click on the drop-down menu labeled 'Settings for' at the top of the window, and select the power source you are currently not using. Then repeat step 3. This will ensure that your Macbook will not go to sleep on its own whatever power source you are using.

How to Transfer Music From a MacBook to the Android


Turn on your phone and your MacBook.
Use a USB cable to connect your smartphone to the MacBook. The USB end of the cable will fit into the computer, while the smaller end will go into the phone.
Wait for the 'Connect to PC' prompt to appear on your phone. Select the option labeled 'Disk Drive' and press 'Done.' This will allow your phone's internal storage and memory card to be modified by the computer.
Open at least two windows within the Mac Finder. One window should display the phone's internal storage or memory, and the second window should display your music collection on your MacBook.
Select the songs you want to copy onto your Android phone from the MacBook Finder window. Drag these files onto the smartphone's Finder window. A file transfer progress bar will be displayed. When the progress bar disappears, your songs will be transferred from the MacBook onto your Android phone.

How to Install iWork on an iMac Computer (7 Steps)


Turn on your Mac or iMac computer and remove the iWok CD from its box. If you own an iMac computer, the power button will be located at the bottom left on the back of the machine.
Carefully insert the iWork '08 CD into your Mac or iMac computer. On an iMac, the loading disk drive will be located on the right side of the computer.
Double-click on the box icon labeled 'Install iWork'08'; a new window will open asking if it's OK to check your computer to see if the software can be installed. To select 'yes,' click once on the 'Continue' button. When the software has finished checking your computer, click once on the 'Continue' button on the 'Welcome to the iWork'08 Installer' to begin installing the iWork'08 software.
Read the 'Important Information.' Use the scroll bar to move the information up and down. This section gives you an intro to the types of documents you will be able to use on your Mac or iMac computer. The information will cover the compatibility of import and export and drag and drop from programs like Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word. It will also give you installation information, system requirements and copyright information. If you agree with information, click once on the 'Continue' button.
Scroll through and read the Software License Agreement. This is a detailed list of what you can and cannot do with the iWork software. If you agree with the information, click once on the 'Continue' button and the 'Agree' button.
Choose a destination where you want your software to be installed (for example, Macintosh HD). Click once on the destination to select it and click the 'Continue' button. The next screen that will open will tell you how much MB space is needed for the installation. If you agree with the information on the screen, click once on the 'Install' button. The installation will take about 3 minutes; when it's finished, click once on the 'Close' button.
Click once on the 'Page' icon and enter your purchase serial number. Click once on the 'Continue' button; your information will come up inside the Register Information Box. If you agree with the information on the screen, click once on the 'Continue' button. Your information will now be sent to Apple. Your installation has been registered and the installation is complete. You are now ready to work with your iWorks'08 software.

How to Find Pictures Hidden on My Mac


Close the iPhoto application if it is currently open or running.
Click on the 'Finder' icon in your Dock to open a new window.
Navigate to the 'Pictures' tab on the left side of the Finder window.
Locate the icon labeled 'iPhoto Library' and click on it to highlight it. This is the package that contains all of your individual hidden picture files.
Right-click on the 'iPhoto Library' icon and select 'Show Package Contents' from the contextual menu. A new Finder window will open that displays the hidden contents of your picture library. All pictures you have imported through iPhoto can be found in the 'Originals' folder.

How to Use FaceTime


Tap the 'Phone' application from the home screen of your iOS device.
Tap 'Contacts' in the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen.
Scroll through your list of contacts, then select the contact that you want to have a FaceTime chat with.
Tap the box labeled 'FaceTime' on the contact's screen. The FaceTime application will attempt to contact the other party. Your device rings while FaceTime is contacting the other iOS device. If the other person accepts the connection, your screen will show the other person's image. A small box also appears on the screen displaying the image the other person sees from your device.
Speak to your contact as normal while holding the device directly in front of you so that your contact can clearly see your image on their screen.
Tap the 'Camera' icon at the bottom-right corner of the screen to switch from the camera on the front of your device to the one on the back. Use this feature if you want to show the person you are speaking to an image on the other side of your device.
Tap the 'Mute' button on the bottom-left corner of the screen to prevent the other person from hearing you. Tap the button again to resume audio.
Tap the 'End' button at the bottom of the screen when you are ready to end the call.

How to Save Directions From Google Maps


Visit the Google Maps website. Click 'Sign In' in the upper-right corner to sign in to your Google account.
Click on 'Get Directions.' Type your starting location under the box labeled 'A.' Type your destination address under the box labeled 'B.' Click 'Get Directions' to generate the driving directions.
Click on the route you want, if multiple routes are available. Note the estimated elapsed time for the specific route.
Scroll down to the bottom of the driving directions. Click 'Save to My Maps.' Highlight 'Create a New Map.' Name your map and click 'Save.' The driving directions are saved in your 'My Maps' profile.
Click 'My Maps' and the name you gave the directions. This allows you to view the saved directions.
