How to Check How Much Available Space Is on Your Mac's Hard Drive


Select the 'Finder' and click your hard drive's icon. This is typically labeled 'Macintosh HD.'
Press 'Command-I' from your keyboard. The Get Info dialog box will open.
Click the 'Arrow' next to General. Read the data next to Available, which is the free space that remains on your hard drive.

How to Download Photos to a Mac Computer


Connect your digital camera's USB cable to the camera's USB port.
Plug the digital camera's USB cable into a USB port on your Macintosh
Set your camera to 'play' mode and turn it on.
Wait for iPhoto to open. It will say 'Loading photos...' then 'Ready to import X (the number of photos on your camera) items'.
Click 'Import' and wait for your photos to show up in your iPhoto library. Turn off your digital camera, unplug the USB cable and you're done.

How to Find Out How Much RAM Your Mac Has


Open the Apple menu (click on the little apple in the upper left corner of your screen), and choose either About This Macintosh or About This Computer.
Look for the Total Memory line.
If the figure is in kilobytes (K), not megabytes (MB), divide that figure by 1,024 to find out how many megabytes of RAM your computer has.

How to Invert Colors on a Mac


Click on the Macintosh's 'System Preferences' icon, it looks like an apple on a light switch.
Locate the row labeled 'System.' Click on the last icon named 'Universal Access.'
Wait until the 'Display' screen appears. Press the 'White on Black' button.
Enjoy the altered look. Once the 'new look' gets old, return the screen to the old display by following Steps 1 through 4 again, making sure to click on 'Black on White.'
