How to Write Letters on a MacBook Pro (12 Steps)


Open the TextEdit application. Find the TextEdit icon in your Applications folder and double-click to launch the application.
Begin typing your letter in the Untitled document window that appears when you open the application.
Highlight the words you wish to stylize and select the appropriate option from the 'Styles' drop-down menu in the top-left corner of the document window. You can make text bold, italic, underlined, shadowed, outlined or struck through.
Use the alignment buttons, located to the right of the 'Styles' menu, to change the alignment of the text. Choose left align, center, justify or right align.
Use the 'Spacing' drop-down menu to change the document spacing. Highlight the text you wish to change and select single space, double space or other. The 'Other' option allows you to enter specific line height, inter-line spacing and control the spacing before and after paragraphs.
Create a list. Type the list items on separate lines. Highlight the list items and select the type of list from the 'Lists' drop down menu. Choose from several styles of bullets, lettering or numbers.
Change the color of your text. Under the 'Format' menu at the top of your computer, select 'Font' and then 'Show Colors.' This will display the color picker. To change the color of your text, highlight the words you wish to change and click the color from the color picker.
To change the size of your words, highlight the text and then hold down the 'Command' key on your keyboard. Then press the '+' key to increase the size of the font or the '-' key to decrease the size of the font.
To insert a file to your document, click your cursor inside your document where you want the file to appear. Select 'Attach Files' from the 'File' menu. Locate the file on your computer that you wish to insert and then click the 'Open' button.
To check the spelling and grammar of your document, select 'Spelling and Grammar' from the 'Edit' menu and then select 'Check Spelling Now.'
To save your document, select 'Save As' from the 'File' menu. Type a file name into the 'Save As' box. Choose a folder to save your document in from the 'Where' drop-down menu. Select a file type from the 'File Format' drop-down list and then click the 'Save' button.
To print your document, select 'Print' from the 'File' menu. Choose your printer from the 'Printer' drop-down menu and click the 'Print' button.

How to Move iPhone Apps From a Screen


Turn on your iPhone.
Scroll through the display screens of the iPhone by swiping your finger horizontally across the screen. Decide which apps you want to move or delete.
Press and hold your finger against any app on the screen with the screen you want to move or delete until all the apps on the screen start to wiggle and a white 'X' with a circle around it appears in the upper-left corner of the screen.
Tap and hold the app you want to move to another screen until the app increases slightly in size. Drag the app to the furthest edge of the screen in the direction you want to move the app. Continue dragging the app from screen to screen until you arrive at the screen where you want to place the app. Remove your finger from the screen when you arrive at the screen where you want to place the app. Alternatively, if you want to delete an app, tap the 'X' in the upper-left corner of the app, then click 'Delete' to confirm that you want to delete the app.
Press the 'Home' button just beneath the iPhone screen to to stop the apps from wiggling and finalize your changes.

How to Grab Facebook Contacts Onto an iPad


Launch the App Store application on the iPad by tapping its icon on the home screen.
Press the 'Search' button in the menu at the bottom of the screen and type 'Facebook' into the search box in the upper right corner.
Select the entry for the iPhone Facebook application from the search results. Press the blue 'Free' button to download and install the app on the iPad.
Launch the Facebook application on the iPad. The application will appear in a small box in the centre of the screen, which matches the screen resolution of the iPhone. Enter the username and password for your Facebook account in the relevant boxes and tap the 'Sign In' button.
Press the square button in the upper left corner to open the options page. A list of available Facebook features will be displayed.
Tap the 'Friends' button to display a list of all your Facebook friends. Press the export button in the upper right corner, shaped like a box with an arrow pointing to the right.
Press the 'Sync Contacts' button and slide the 'Syncing' switch to 'On.' The iPad's Contacts application will be updated to match your Facebook friends' details.

How to Remove Unwanted Start


Click on the 'Apple' menu and select 'System Preferences.'
Click on “Accounts” to open the Accounts preferences pane. Select “Login Items.”
Click on the lock icon in the lower-left corner and enter your user administrator password.
Highlight the application you wish to remove from your startup items and click the '-' button under the startup application list to remove the item. The next time you restart your Mac, the removed item will no longer be in the system startup queue.

How to Right Click with an Apple Computer (4 Steps)


Place the pointer over the item that you want right click on. If you want to change the desktop background, place the pointer anywhere on the desktop image that's currently set. If you are trying to select a folder or drive, place the pointer directly on top of the folder or drive.
Look on the keyboard in the lower left corner for the control key. It maybe labeled 'Ctrl.' In basic use of the Macintosh, it's unlikely that you've ever had to use that key, so don't be frightened of it.

Click the mouse button once and a menu will appear. Depending on what was clicked, you will get a different menu. Release the 'Ctrl' key and select the menu item you want and click the mouse again. The right click is now complete.

How to Connect an HP Printer to an Apple Laptop


Go to the 'Apple' menu and highlight 'Software Update' to check for printer software updates.
Turn on the HP printer and connect it to the laptop with the USB cable included with the printer.
Navigate to the 'Apple' menu in the upper left corner of the screen and select 'System Preferences.' Click on the icon for 'Print & Fax.'
Open the lock icon in the lower left corner of the screen by clicking on it. Enter an administrator user name and password in the on screen dialog window.

Launch the PhotoBooth application that comes standard on the MacBook. The application turns on the FaceTime camera and uses it to capture still photos or videos of the person sitting in the front of the computer. Preview the image in the main window. Select the photo or video icon in the lower left corner of the screen. Click the camera or the video camera in the bottom center of the screen to activate the camera to take a photo or record a video.
Launch the iChat application that ships with all MacBooks. Click the video camera icon at the top of the window to open a video chat preview window. Video chat with other iChat buddies in your buddy list who are online. Click a buddy who displays a video camera icon next to his name for a two-way video chat. Additional buddies can be added to the video chat.
Launch Skype, a third-party free download from the Internet. Skype offers free video calls between Skype members, as well as low cost traditional calls to non-Skype members anywhere on the globe. Skype opens the FaceTime camera for your use on video calls.
Activate the FaceTime application, which ships free on all MacBooks. The application activates the FaceTime camera. View the preview of your image. Contact anyone in the contact list on the right side of the FaceTime window by clicking on a phone number. The person can answer your video call on an Intel Mac or on an iPad2, iPhone or iPod touch.

How to Reinstall an iPad App (5 Steps)


Turn on your iPad and navigate to the home screen page your app is located on.
Press down on the app's icon until it starts to wiggle, then tap the 'x' in the corner of the icon. This removes the application from your iPad.

How to Use a Trackpad to Sign Digital Signatures


Open “Autograph” by double-clicking the program’s icon in the “Applications” folder. Open a blank document in “TextEdit” or another text editor that supports pasted graphics. This will allow you to paste the signature directly into the text editor after creating the signature.
Click the “Autograph” icon in the top-left corner of the menu bar and select “Autograph Now.” Sign your name on the trackpad using your fingers or a stylus. The movement will be recorded and shown on the preview pad on-screen.
Press “Escape” to discard the signature and start over. If you are satisfied with your signature, press “Enter to Accept.' This finalizes the signature and automatically pastes it to your opened text editor.
