How to Delete Document History on a Mac

Click on the Apple icon in the upper left-hand corner of the screen. Scroll down to the 'Recent Items' tab. Hold the mouse arrow over the tab and a list of the most recent applications and documents you have opened will appear.
Scroll the mouse arrow down the list to the bottom of the pop-up tab. You should see an option that says 'Clear Menu' at the very bottom of the tab. Click on the 'Clear Menu' button. This will automatically delete your document history.
Check to make sure your history is cleared. Click on the Apple icon again and scroll down to the 'Recent Items' tab once more. Hold the mouse arrow over the tab and a pop-up list appears. The list of recently used applications and documents should now be empty.
Make sure to delete the downloaded document history as well. A download history pop-up box appears every time you download a document from the Internet using a Mac computer. This box shows all the most recent documents you have downloaded. Click on the 'Clear List' tab in the bottom left-hand corner of the box to delete your document download history.

How to Get Text Files on an iPad

Browse the App Store on your iPad and choose an app to use for your text-file needs. The iPad's native software supports viewing many types of text files, including plain text, rich text and Word documents. However, these files are read-only and have no folder-style file management to organize them. Look for an app that has folder management and iTunes file transfer support.
Download and install the app onto your iPad.
Plug your iPad's sync cable into the iPad and into the computer where the text files are stored.
Launch iTunes on the computer and wait for it to recognize your iPad.
Click your iPad under the 'Devices' menu in iTunes and then choose 'Apps' and move down until you see the file-sharing area on the screen.
Click the app you downloaded for your text files where it appears in the file-sharing area, not in the main app listings. A file area will appear next to it.
Drag and drop your text files into the file area in iTunes. Click 'Apply' and then 'Sync' -- or just 'Sync,' if that option is available -- after all files are in the sharing area. Allow your iPad to fully sync with the computer and then disconnect it and open your text-file app. Your text files will be stored within this app on the iPad.

How to Download Wallpapers on a Mac

Begin to address your wallpaper needs on your Mac by bringing your cursor to the Apple icon in your tool bar. This icon is located on the far left of the tool bar at the top of your screen and provides a list of display features.
Select 'System Preferences' from the Apple menu to prepare your computer for the wallpaper download. This menu leads you to an icon called 'Desktop,' which allows you to manage every aspect of your Mac's appearance.
Save pictures and images that you download for use as wallpaper in the 'Picture' file so you can access them easily on your Mac. You can access your documents from the 'Finder' icon on the 'Dock' menu along the side of your screen.
Upload photos from your digital camera onto your Mac to increase the potential wallpapers for your desktop. You can connect the memory card into your Mac's USB port and access the appropriate drive through the Mac 'Finder.'
Click twice on the 'Photo' file and double click again on the appropriate photo to complete editing before using it as wallpaper. Your photo will pop up in your default photo editor and you can use the Mac's resolution limitations to establish boundaries for your creativity.
Access 'iTunes' through your Mac to locate album covers, art and other materials promoted through Apple for download as wallpaper. Apple will occasionally place images ready for use as wallpapers up on 'iTunes,' but you can also copy images directly from its website (see Resources below).
Search for seasonal or special wallpapers for your Mac through Apple's Downloads page (see Resources below). This page offers safe and complete wallpaper files ranging from promotional wallpapers for artists to backgrounds related to upcoming holidays.

How to Transfer From a PC to an iMac

Write down a list of applications you can't do without. In many cases, you will need to find a different program, since many Windows PC programs aren't made for the iMac. Making this list ahead of time allows you to purchase software you need when you purchase your iMac, which will cut down on the time it takes to get your new computer environment up and running. Many programs, such as Microsoft Office, have a version for Mac. In most cases, Mac has a suitable replacement program for just about any Windows software you need.
Back up all of your important files on a CD-R. Burn them onto a disc from your PC before you begin setting up on your iMac. This includes any documents, images, or music you will want to transfer. IMac reads all the common files that a PC can read, including text, rich text, JPEG, MP3 and PDF files. You will be able to transfer those files directly. If you have Microsoft Word or Excel files, Apple's iWork will read and write these files, although the software will need to be purchased separately (unless you purchase Microsoft Office for Mac).
Open 'Finder' on your iMac, click the 'Task' button located along the top of the window, and click 'New Folder' to create folders with the same names you're familiar with on your PC. Many of the same default folders already exist on the iMac, including 'Pictures,' 'Movies' and 'Music.'
Insert the disc that contains all of your backed up documents, images and music files from your PC. The disc will open automatically. Select the files using the holding down the 'Shift' key and clicking the files you want to move. Open the appropriate folder in 'Finder' and drag your files to the folder.
Check all of your files to ensure they can be opened on your iMac and edited. Make a list of those that you can't access (the list will be limited). Install any software on your iMac you need to get back into working on your computer without disruption.
