How to Use Photoshop for Mac (14 Steps)

Open Adobe Photoshop. Go to Photoshop Menu > Preferences > Display and Cursors. Set your Painting Cursors to 'Brush Size' and your Other Cursors to 'Standard'. This makes it easier to see the exact size of the brush you're using. Click 'OK'.
Familiarize yourself with the tool palette. If you move your cursor over each tool, it will bring up the name of the tool and the letter key to type to quickly access that tool.
Open the photo you'd like to edit by holding down the command key and pressing the 'o' key. On Apple keyboards, this key has an Apple logo on it that may not be present on third-party keyboards. Select your image and then click 'Open'.
Type 'z' to select the Zoom tool. Click and drag the dotted marquee around the area you want to zoom in on. In this case, we're going to remove the unwanted highlights in the dog's eyes.
Type 'w' to select the Wand Tool. Select the area(s) where you want to change the color. To select more than one area, hold down the shift key. Go to the Select menu and choose 'Feather'. Type in a value of 1 where it says 'pixels'.
Type 'i' to select the Eyedropper tool. Click on the area of color you want to match. Hold down the option key and press 'delete' to fill that area. Type 'command-d' to deselect.
You have to clone part of the image around the new fill to match her eyes. Type 's' to select the Clone Stamp Tool. Use the left and right bracket keys to adjust the size of your brush. Hold the option key and click on the area you want to sample. Click and hold to paint the area you wish to clone over.
Type 'command-0 (zero)' to undo the zoom. Type 'c' to select the Crop tool and bring up its options. Type '5' in the Width field and type in '7 in' the Height field. Set the Resolution drop down menu to' Pixels/Inch'. Type '300' in the Resolution field.
Click and drag around the area of the photo you want to keep. If you need to, click in the center of the dotted lines to move the box. The lighter parts of the image will remain, and the darker parts are discarded. Press the return key. This gives you a nice size image for printing and framing.
Go to Image Menu > Adjustments > Brightness and Contrast.
Adjust the sliders until the color is pleasing to your eye. Click 'OK'.
Type 'command-s' to save the photo or go to File menu > Save As... if you want to save it under a different name, or in a different location. Congratulations, you've just professionally edited your first photograph.

How to Connect an iPad to Wi

Root your Android phone. This process is required before you will be able to create a Wi-Fi hotspot on your phone. It can be done in many different ways. One option is to download a program such as SuperOneClick to your computer. Then you will connect the Android to your computer with a USB cable. You then use the software to complete the rooting process on your phone.
Visit the Android Market by pressing the 'Android Market' icon on your phone. Locate the Barnacle WiFi Tether application by typing its name in the search box. Enter your account information and then download the app to your phone. The program itself is free to install. You also have the option of buying a widget for the program for $1.99 to help with the installation.
Open the Barnacle application and press the 'Settings' button to enter the Settings menu. Once in the Settings menu, press the 'SSID' option to name the network that you want to create.
Press the 'Wireless Security' selection and then press the button to enable WEP. Once you have done this, choose a password for your network. Click on the 'WAN' and 'LAN' options in the Settings menu. Delete anything in either text box. Once you have done this, click on the 'Back' arrow and select 'Start.'
Press the icon for an application on your iPad that uses the Internet, such as Safari. You will be prompted to choose a Wi-Fi network to use. Look at the list of available networks and then press the name of the one that you created. Then enter the password that you used earlier. Once you do this, the iPad will be connected to the wireless network created by your Android phone.

How to Stop the Spinning Wheel on Apple

Use the keystroke sequence 'Command+Option+Escape' if the spinning wheel does not resolve itself after 30 seconds. The resulting list of programs currently running will indicate which one is not responding. Select the offending program with your cursor and click the 'Force Quit' button at the bottom of the list.
Restart the computer while holding down the 'Command+S' keys if you experience persistent spinning wheels. Keep pressing until you see the gray screen with the Apple logo, then release. The screen will now be black and display lines of data. At the end of the text will be an old-fashioned computer prompt. This is 'single-user 'mode and allows you to fix problems in the underlying software. Type the command 'fsck -y,' including the space, and press 'Enter.' This will fix minor file errors and often cure the beach ball problem.
Open the Disk Utility program in the Utilities folder on your hard drive. Select the main drive in the window presented and click the button 'Repair Permissions.' This will fix aberrant behavior in some programs that have had their read/write status corrupted for some unknown reason.

How to Increase Your Mac's Hard Drive Space

Copy important documents to an external drive or other backup source before deleting anything. This will ensure you can always restore deleted files if necessary.
Run a search for files larger than 100 MB (megabytes) in Finder by pressing Command-F and setting your parameters to match the image below. It's safe to delete large media files, but don't delete anything you're not sure about, especially files in the Library.
Open the Printers folder in the Library (Hard Drive>Library>Printers) and delete the folders for printers you don't use. These files can total around 4 gigabytes of wasted space. As before, only delete what you're sure you won't use.
Consolidate media libraries (photos, music, videos) onto an external drive to save even more space.
Manage duplicate songs in iTunes by selecting 'Show Duplicates' from the File menu. Erase duplicate files.
Ensure your Trash is empty. Open the Trash icon in the Dock, then press 'Empty' to fully delete files and save space.
