How to Show a Superdrive on a Mac Desktop

Turn on the Mac. For laptops such as the MacBook Pro and all-in-one desktops such as the iMac, the Superdrive is located on the right side of the casing. For the 'Mac Pro' desktop computer, the drive is located on the upper section of the front panel.
Position the CD or DVD with the label side face up and gently push the disc into the Superdrive slot. You will feel the drive turn on and begin to pull the disc in.
Wait a few seconds. You will hear the drive start spinning the disc to read the disc contents. Go to the desktop either by using one of the 'hot corners,' moving your mouse cursor to one of the four corners of the screen or by clicking 'Finder' in the 'Dock' followed by 'Desktop.'
Look around the desktop for an icon of a CD. Depending on the contents or type of disc inserted, the icon will be a blank silver looking disc or a disc shaped image related to the disc contents. As long as the disc is inside the Superdrive, the drive will be viewable on the Mac desktop.

How to Install Photoshop on a MacBook Pro

Obtain a copy of Adobe Photoshop and make sure it states it is Mac-compatible. If not, the product is crafted for Windows. You can find the Mac Adobe Photoshop (exact same product as Windows Photoshop) in most computer stores and on Adobe's website.
Insert the installation CD into the MacBook Pro's CD/DVD drive. In a moment the CD image appears on the desktop, and the installation wizard launches.
Click 'Next' on the greeting page, then select an installation language. The language adjusts all of the prompts during the wizard.
Read through and accept the license agreement.
Follow the prompts until you reach the activation code. This code is found on a small, white piece of cardboard inside the packaging of the Adobe Photoshop product. Type this code into the bar on the screen and click 'Next.'
Finish the prompts, and the installation begins. The program is rather large, so the process takes a few minutes to complete.

How to Play a Mini Disc

Open the drive you're using for your mini disc and put the disc inside with the center hole pressed over the tray's center spoke. If it's a music disc, put it into a CD player or CD drive. If the mini disc is a DVD disc, you'll need a DVD player or a computer's DVD drive to play it properly. For this we'll assume that you're using a computer's drive and not a DVD or CD player.
Close the tray. Left-click the 'Start' button and then left-click the 'Computer' option that comes up. A window showing you all of the components on your computer should come up, including the drive with the mini disc inside.
Double-left-click the drive with the mini disc in it. If the disc is a DVD disc or a CD, it will attempt to start playing the content on the disc using the appropriate program such as Windows Media Player.

How to Burn a DVD With a Mac (7 Steps)

To burn data: Insert a blank disc. A dialog box will come up asking to name your disc and select the proper format for your disc such as picture, audio or data. The name of the disc will appear as an icon on the sidebar of your Finder window. Drag files to the disc's name in Finder, followed by clicking on the icon when you are done adding files.
Click File at the top of the screen, followed by 'Burn Disc' from the drop-down menu.
To burn video or audio: Insert a blank disc into your DVD drive. A DVD-R is recommended for DVDs you plan to use in personal DVD players, as not all DVD players are compatible with DVD-RWs.

Select 'Create New Project' or 'Open Existing Project.' Select 'Open Existing Project' if you already have a video file on your computer that requires burning. Locate the folder the video file is in and double click the file to open it.
Add a theme to your DVD. A theme is a style that appears on the menu screen of your DVD before the video plays. Apple provides a variety of themes, or you can customize your own. To add a theme, click 'Themes' at the bottom of the iDVD menu, followed by scrolling through the different themes. When you have found the preferred theme, click OK.
Check your project for errors. Click the 'Map' button and look for any exclamation points. These exclamation points represent errors that should be fixed before burning. Once you have corrected the errors, save your project and click the Burn button located at the bottom of the iDVD program.
