How to Sync Mac Laptop to Mac Desktop (5 Steps)

Connect the power port on the MagSafe connector into the power connection on the MacBook. This allows you to charge the laptop while it is connected to the desktop display.
Insert the USB cable, also running out of the MagSafe cable, into one of the USB ports on the side of the Macbook.
Connect the mini DVI cable (also part of the MagSafe connector) into the mini DVI connection port, located on the left side of the MacBook computer.
Insert the opposite end of the MagSafe cable (a single USB cable) into one of the self-powered USB ports, located on the rear of the Mac desktop display.
Power on the MacBook and the desktop display. The content of the laptop now syncs with the desktop.

How to Force iMac to Boot EFI

Shut down your iMac from the Apple menu. If you are trying to reboot into a special mode because your iMac is locked up, shut down the computer by holding the power key for five seconds.
Press the power key briefly while holding down the Option key. This provides a list of available disks with bootable Mac systems. Click on an alternative startup disk to boot your Mac from that drive, such as an optical disc or an external drive.
Repeat Step 1 if this does not produce the desired result.
Hold down 'S' and press the power key to launch into single-user or 'safe' mode. This provides you with a Unix prompt and instructions you can use to repair your boot volumes. These commands perform similar repairs to what can be done within the Disk Utility application, but this process will allow you to repair an iMac that cannot be booted.

How to Disable HDCP on a MacBook Pro (3 Steps)

Check whether your attached equipment is HDCP-compliant. If you've hooked up your MacBook Pro to an external monitor for your viewing pleasure, and it doesn't support HDCP, HDCP may treat this as a piracy attempt, though some material, such as TV shows, will still run. If you replace the monitor with an HDCP-approved one, or if you watch the movie on the Mac's regular screen, it should play without any problems.
Take an older Mac out of mothballs and transfer the movie over to that computer. HDCP works through Apple's Mini DisplayPort, a digital connection to external displays. If you have an older, iTunes-compliant computer that doesn't have DisplayPort, nothing will stop it from playing the movie on the external monitor.
Right-click the material you want to watch, select 'Version' and then choose 'Standard Definition.' This leaves the movie free to run on your external monitor because it's not playing in high-definition format. This doesn't trigger HDCP, so there's no resistance. ITunes attempts to play movies in high-def by default.

How to Reimage a Macintosh Computer (6 Steps)

Attach an external hard drive to your Macintosh that has at least as much storage capacity as the space used on the drive you are imaging. You can skip this step if you already have a second drive with enough free space.
Launch the Disk Utility application from the Applications/Utilities folder.
Select the drive you wish to image by name in the list on the left-hand side of the Disk Utility window. This list will also include drives by their serial number. You should usually ignore these in favor of the named drives; however, select the drive by serial number if you want to create a single image of a drive with two or more partitions.
Choose 'File' > 'New' > 'New Disk Image from...', which will display the name of the drive you have selected.
Select the external drive in the Save dialog. If you wish, select a compression format and encryption method. Compression will create a much smaller disk image which still contains all the information on your original drive. Encryption will require a password before the disk image can be opened; if you lose this password, you will not be able to access the contents of the disk image.
Click 'Save' to create the disk image. Disk imaging can take a long time, especially if you are creating a compressed or encrypted disk image. You can continue to use your Macintosh during this time, but it will run more slowly due to the disk access required by the imaging.

How to Annotate in iBooks

Open the book you want to annotate in your iBooks app. Browse through the content until you find the sentence or paragraph you want to annotate or annotate on the fly as you read a book.
Touch and hold your finger on the passage until the contextual menu and selection handles appear. Adjust the selection handles to select as much or as little of the text as needed. You can select individual letters, words, sentences and paragraphs as needed.
Touch the “Note” option in the contextual menu after you finish adjusting the selection. Type your note and then tap away from the note area to close and save. If you're using an iPhone or iPod Touch, you'll need to click the small right arrow on the contextual menu to display the 'Note' option.
On the iPad, tap the small note icon to the right of your annotated passage to view or edit the note. On all iOS devices, the annotated portions of a book or document in iBooks are indicated by the presence of highlighting. Tap the highlighted text to display a list of extra options. Click the color circles to change the highlight color, the trash can to delete the note, the note icon to edit the note or the share icon to copy or share the highlighted text.
