How to Stream Cox Cable on My iPad
Connect your set-top box to the video source. The device should have enough connections on the back to allow you to hook up to three different video sources at once. This means you can hook your Cox cable connection directly into the back of the box's coaxial inputs. This will run the video feed to your TV through the device. You will also need to connect the box to your television inputs.
Hook up the box to an Internet connection. If your Internet router is close by, you can simply connect an Ethernet cord to the back of the box. If you do not have a router nearby, you can get a device that makes your electrical outlets into an Internet connection. Once you plug the box into the wall outlet, it will automatically have an Internet connection also.
Download the appropriate app for your iPad from the App Store. For example, if you use a Slingbox for this process, you will need to download an app called SlingPlayer. You will need to enter your iTunes password into the iPad to allow the download. Wait for a few seconds to allow the download to finish, and then open it.
Watch your television through the app on your iPad. You can completely control your television through the app. It will allow you to change channels and even use your DVR through the iPad controls.
