How to Set Up Mail in Macbooks (5 Steps)
Click the 'Mail' icon in your Dock to open Apple Mail. If you don't have Mail in your Dock, click the 'Finder' icon to open a new Finder window, then select your 'Applications' folder in the shortcut menu on the left. Double-click the 'Mail' icon to open the application.
Enter your full name, email address and password into the Mail setup assistant window. Apple Mail gives you the option to automatically set up email accounts for MobileMe and many popular email services. If this option does not appear, select a POP, IMAP or Exchange email account type. If you are not sure which type of email account you have, verify with your email provider. This can usually be found in your email account 'Settings' or 'Preferences.'
Click the 'Continue' button to finish setting up your email account. Click the 'Show' button, which appears after setting up your first account in Apple Mail, to view new features in the Apple Mail application.
Select 'Mail' from the top menu bar, then select 'Preferences' and click the 'Accounts' tab. You can add or remove an email account at any time by using the '+' and '-' icons at the bottom of your accounts list.
Click the '+' icon at the bottom of the Mail application window to add a mailbox or folder to organize your emails.
