How to Transfer a VHS to a MacBook
Install the appropriate VHS conversion software onto your MacBook. This will upload programs that can convert the video from your VHS into a video file, such as an MPEG. Restart your MacBook if required.
Connect the USB plug of the analog/digital video converter to one of the open USB ports on your MacBook.
Connect the VCR to the analog/digital video converter with the RCA A/V cable. Make sure that all RCA plugs are connected to their color-appropriate jacks.
Insert your VHS tape into the VCR. Make sure to rewind the videocassette all the way to the beginning.
From your MacBook, open up the installed VHS conversion software. Begin a new conversion project with your software, so the program imports the VHS signal encoded by the digital converter and converts it into a usable video file. Reference the owner’s manual or help section of your VHS conversion software if you’re having difficulties starting the program.

How to Upgrade Your MacBook Air
Remove screws. The internals of a MacBook Pro are accessed form the underside of the casing. The bottom is held in place by ten screws, including six 3 mm Phillips screws, two 5.4 mm Phillips screws, and two 7.9 mm Phillips screws.
Lift off the case. Once the screws are removed, the bottom of the MacBook Air case should come off easily, with a quick pull.
Disconnect the accessory ports. Your MacBook Air's current hard drive or solid state drive sits underneath the ribbon that connects your accessory USB, audio, power and DVI connectors. With the bottom of the case removed, unplug the ribbon that connects these accessories to the motherboard.
Remove hard drive screws. Once the accessory ports are disconnected form the board, remove the screws that hold the hard drive frame in place.
Lift the hard drive frame. Make sure that the ribbon that attaches the accessory ports is safely out of the way. If the path is clear, the hard drive and its frame can be lifted from the computer.
Replace hard drive. With the frame and hard drive out of the computer, the current drive can be slid out of the frame and a new one inserted. Original generation MacBook Air models use a zero insertion force (ZIF) connector, so make sure the hard drive or solid state drive you use has this type of connector. Models manufactured after the summer of 2009 feature a more common Serial ATA (SATA) connector. All MacBook Air hard drives or solid state drives must be 1.8 inches wide by 5 mm tall to fit in the frame.
Reassemble MacBook Air. Place the bracket back in the computer and secure it using using the removed screws. Reattach the ribbon connectors for the accessory ports. Replace the back of the computer and secure it with its 10 screws. Boot the computer and install Mac OS X, being sure to test functionality.

How to Use an iPad as a Writing Tool
Dock the iPad on to the add-on external keyboard for typing articles, press releases, reports, and other documents. The keyboard has an easy to use port and the iPad sits right on top.
Use the Pages word processing program to create, edit, save, and print documents. Files can be saved to and printed from the iPad. This word processing program is a full featured program with cut, copy, paste and formatting capabilities.
Backup the files created on the iPad daily by emailing files to a business or personal email to transfer to another computer or thumb drive. The iPad lacks USB ports and other connectivity to other computers or other external storage devices , making emailing files to other computers the fastest and most secure way to transfer files.
Use the PrintCentral program to print files. The iPad lacks a standard print function so users need to download a print management app such as PrintCentral to be able to print documents, photos, or Web content from the iPad.
Use the Calendar program to manage a writing schedule, interview dates, media calendars, deadlines, and other events.
Create to-do lists and reminder post-its that can be displayed on the opening screen of the iPad. Use the Corkit program to create and save post-it notes as a jpg file. Use the Settings app on the iPad desktop to change the wallpaper daily to put up the new post-it screen.
Use the Safari app to conduct on-line research to include in press releases or articles.
Create a photo slide-show of writing clips and photography samples to quickly show potential clients samples of your work. Public relations writers can scan printed writing clips, press releases or other promotional materials to PDF or JPG. files and save to a desktop or laptop computer that has a copy of iTunes downloaded to it. Sync the iPad with iTunes on the desktop computer to transfer scanned files and photos to the iPad.
Use the Evernote app to enter and manage public relations and writing projects. You can enter URLs from your Internet research, photos, graphics, and many other elements that belong to a particular writing project into individual notebook like folders. This program will also sync to a regular computer so that all of the project files can be transferred for backup purposes to another storage device.

How to Connect a Laptop to Sony Bravia (4 Steps)
Decide whether you will use a VGA or DVI cable. If your laptop has a DVI port, use it as it delivers better graphics than the VGA. If it does not have a DVI port, use the VGA cable. Note that the instructions are the same regardless of what cable you use.
Connect the cable to the laptop's port, then connect it to the Sony Bravia. The ports for both devices are typically found in the back of the device. Be sure that both ends of the cable are secured to the ports.
Change the input display on the Sony Bravia to the input that corresponds to the port you are using.
Set your laptop to display using the DVI or VGA port. Typically, you would press the 'Fn' key followed by the key that shows a laptop display on it. This will display the laptop on the Bravia. This key combination normally toggles the laptop's display among laptop only, laptop and external monitor, and external monitor only. You can also change the settings on the computer by going to 'Start,' 'Control Panel,' and looking for the display settings.
