How to Tell If My iPad Is Charged
Connect your iPad to a wall charger or high-speed USB port.
Look at the screen without touching anything. You should see a green bar that shows your iPad's charging status. When the green bar is 100 percent full, your iPad is fully charged.
Press the home button and look in the top right corner of your iPad's screen. You will a see a number followed by the '%' sign. This is the amount of charge your iPad has. When you the charge is at '100%' your iPad is fully charged.

How to Open a Magsafe Power Adapter (5 Steps)
Unplug the adapter from the power outlet and allow it to cool for a few minutes.
Remove the grounded wall cord or 2-prong wall plug connector from the adapter.
Hold the adapter and cut along its seam, using the circular metal cutting tool; cut only on one side of the adapter.
Flip the adapter over and cut along the seam on the opposite side.
Pry the halves of the casing apart with the putty knife, cutting more if necessary. Be sure to keep track of the cord winding tabs, as they will fly off if you pry too vigorously. The adapter should now be opened.

How to Test a MagSafe DC
Turn the laptop on. Let the desktop appear on the screen. Shut down the laptop once the battery icon in the upper right corner of the screen states that there is less than 50% power remaining.
Rotate the laptop counterclockwise so that you can see the MagSafe DC-input depression at the upper left inside edge.
Plug the power cord attached to the MagSafe’s power supply into a wall outlet. Place the MagSafe connector up against the depression. Let go once you feel the magnetic attraction that is holding the MagSafe connector against the depression.
Turn the laptop on. Do nothing until the laptop’s operating system brings up the desktop. Note that the icon of the battery in the upper right corner of the screen is displaying a “lightning” slash through the battery icon. Write down the percentage of battery power being displayed.
Leave the laptop undisturbed for an hour. Note whether the percentage of the battery power has increased or not. If there is no increase in the percentage, the laptop’s DC-input board is not receiving any electricity from the MagSafe connector. If the percentage has increased, the opposite is true.
