How to Transfer Video to the MacBook Air (9 Steps)

Attach a USB hard drive to a secondary computer and copy any video files you wish to transfer to your MacBook Air. On either an OS X or Windows-based computer, highlight the files you want to transfer and use your mouse to drag them onto the external hard drive.
Eject the hard drive and connect it to your MacBook Air. Use the hard drive's USB cable to connect to a USB 2.0 port on the side of the MacBook Air.
Wait several seconds for the hard drive to appear within the MacBook Air's Finder. Select the hard drive's entry under 'Devices' --- on the left side of the Finder window --- to bring up the hard drive's contents.
Select the video files saved on the USB hard drive. Drag them with your mouse from the USB hard drive onto your MacBook's desktop. This will cause a transfer progress bar to appear. Once the bar is finished, your video files will be transferred onto the MacBook Air.

How to Take a Screen Shot With a MacBook

Have the content that you want as a screen shot centered on your screen. Press the 'Command-Shift-“4.” The cursor becomes a crosshair.
Move the cursor to the corner of the screen where you want the picture to start.
Click and drag your mouse to select the content for the screen shot. A selection rectangle appears in the area you define. To adjust this rectangle keep holding down the mouse key as you proceed through the next steps.
Move the selection rectangle as needed by pressing the space bar and moving the cursor. The rectangle follows this movement.
Resize the rectangle around the selection center as needed by pressing the “Option” key and move the cursor. The rectangle resizes.
Constrain the selection rectangle as needed by pressing the “Shift” key while letting go of the other keys. Moving the cursor horizontally constrains the vertical size and vice versa.
Release all the keys, including the mouse. The screenshot will appear on the desktop with the name “Picture” and a number, such as “Picture 1.”
Double-click on the screenshot so you can open and inspect it.

How to Have Multiple Windows Open on One Monitor

Press the 'Tab' key on your keyboard while simultaneously pressing the Windows logo key. All open windows on your monitor will stack together in a series of icons, starting in the top left of the screen.
Click the 'Tab' key again to rotate through the icons until you're at the window that you want to view. Release the 'Tab' and Windows logo key to display the window in full view. Alternatively, use your mouse to click on a specific window in the stack.
Jump to a specific window as an alternative to stacking all open windows. Press and hold the 'Alt' key and the 'Tab' key on your keyboard. All open windows will shrink into a line of icons.
Hit the 'Tab' key to scroll through the windows until you're at the one that you want to view. Release the keys on your keyboard and the window will jump to the front of the screen in full size.
View windows side-by-side instead of cascading or jumping through the windows. This is ideal if you only want to view two or three windows simultaneously. Hold down the 'Ctrl' button on your keyboard and select the appropriate windows in your taskbar. This highlights all the windows. Right-click on any of them and select 'Show Windows Side by Side.'

Wait a moment for your computer to recognize the CD.
Move your mouse to 'Start' at the lower left-hand corner of your Windows screen.
