How to Replace the Logic Board in a Macbook Pro

Turn your Macbook Pro off and flip it over. Remove the battery from its bay by pressing the two catches on either side of the battery compartment (in the middle of the bottom of your Macbook Pro); then lift out the battery.
Remove the three screws at the bottom of the battery compartment with the Phillips-head screwdriver and lift out the compartment.
Turn your Macbook Pro right-side up and remove the two screws on each corner of the back of the computer. Then remove all the screws on each of the remaining three sides of the computer. Gently lift the top of the Macbook Pro up until the housing comes away from the computer.
Lift the keyboard up by its corners and away from the body of the computer to reveal the green logic board. Detach the orange ribbon connecting the keyboard by gently pulling it loose from the logic board. Place the keyboard aside.
Remove the two wires connected to the sides of the logic board from the computer by inserting the tip of your flat-head screwdriver under the wire and gently lifting upward.
Remove the yellow tape from the top of the logic board with the tip of your flat-head screwdriver. Disconnect the thick gold video cable from the side of the logic board.
Remove the 10 screws on the logic board (eight on the sides and two in the middle) with your Phillips-head screwdriver.
Gently lift the logic board up and remove the power cable from the left side of the logic board by gently pulling it out. With the last connection unplugged, remove the logic board and replace with the new one (available at your Apple retailer or online). Reassemble your Macbook Pro in the reverse order you took it apart.

How to Fill a Cracked Screen With Toothpaste (5 Steps)

Place a hand towel on a table. Place the cellphone on the towel with the screen facing up. Blow off the screen with a burst of compressed air. Wipe the edges of the screen with a soft cloth to remove any dust that has gathered there. Blow the screen off again with the compressed air.
Apply toothpaste to the end of the cotton swab. Wipe the excess toothpaste off the sides of the swab with your finger. Wash your finger with water.
Hold the swab in your right hand. Hold the cellphone down with your left hand. Place the covered tip of the swab against the screen at the left side of the crack. Press down gently as you drag the tip across the length of the crack. Remove the tip once the other side of the crack is reached. Discard the swab.
Wrap the soft cloth around the pinky finger of your right hand. Hold the cellphone down with your left hand. Place the covered tip of your pinky against the screen at the left side of the crack. Press down gently as you drag the covered tip of your pinky along the length of the crack. Remove your pinky from the screen once you reach the other side of the crack. Place the soft cloth aside.
Inspect the screen to see if the crack is no longer visible. If you can still see the crack, repeat the entire procedure again starting with the application of the toothpaste to the swab and the swab to the screen.
