How to Connect a MIDI Keyboard to a Mac Book Pro
Insert the MIDI cable into the 'MIDI OUT' jack on your keyboard. Check your keyboard's user guide for the exact location of the jack. The MIDI cable should have five prongs that match up with holes inside the output jack. Guide these prongs into their matching holes. Wiggle the cable after inserting it to make sure it sits securely.
Insert the other end of the cable into the 'MIDI IN' jack on the MIDI interface device. Check the interface's user manual for the exact location of the MIDI input jack. The jack will have 5 holes to match up with the 5 prongs on the MIDI cable.
Connect the MIDI interface to the Mac Book Pro with a MIDI to USB cable. Insert the MIDI end of the cable into the 'MIDI Out' jack on the interface. Insert the other end into an open USB slot on your laptop.
Turn on the MIDI keyboard and Mac Book Pro. Plug the MIDI keyboard's power cord into an electrical outlet. Press and hold the circular button to the right of the Mac Book Pro's keyboard. Wait for the laptop to power up.
Open the Garageband music application and wait for the program to recognize the keyboard. Open the Garageband application on your computer and let it start up completely. A window will appear stating you have a new MIDI device available for use.

How to Troubleshoot AmpliTube iRig
Remove your instrument cable from the iRig 1/4-inch input jack.
Insert a brand-new instrument cable into the jack. A faulty guitar cable can create sounds similar to those of a faulty interface, namely crackling and hissing. Since your guitar cable experiences much more movement than the iRig adapter, it's more likely to experience wear and tear. By replacing the cable with a new one, you eliminate a faulty cable as a cause.
Slot a razor blade into the groove along the side of the iRig casing. Once you've established entry, slide the blade along the edge and gently pry the top half of the casing away from the bottom half.
Inspect the interior. If you spot any loose or completely disconnected wires, these are the most likely cause of intermittent sound.

How to Connect Serato With CDJ
Plug your CDJ's cables into the input sockets on the SL 1. The left deck goes into input 1, while the right deck is input 2. (When facing your decks, these inputs are on the back of the interface. When looking at the back of the interface, the right deck goes into the input on the left, while the left deck goes into the input on the right. See Resources for diagrams.)
Connect the outputs to your mixer using the RCA cables included with your Serato setup. Left and right deck line outputs connect to their respective (left and right) line inputs on your mixer. Set your mixer to 'Line' level.
Connect your 'PHONO' inputs on your mixer to the left/right respective 'THRU' outputs on your interface. Using 'THRU' allows you to switch from Serato Scratch Live to your own CDs at the flip of a mixer switch.
Connect the interface directly to your computer using the provided USB cable. Do not plug it into a USB Hub or splitter.
