Download Connectify from connectify.me to turn your PC into a virtual router. The software can share almost any connection, including Internet from 3G/4G cards. Type a name for the network where it says 'Hotspot Name' and make a password to prevent neighbors from using it. Select your connection from the drop-down menu under 'Internet' and click 'Start Hotspot' to begin. The paid version choosing your settings for you and unlocks features under the 'Services' tab. The Virtual Router Manager keeps track of each device that attempts a connection, and clicking 'Stop Virtual Router' disables them instantly. Create a network name of your choice and a password that has a minimum of eight characters. Although Virtual Router is freeware, it is not supported by advertisements, and is compatible with Windows 7 and Windows 2008 R2.
