How to Connect an iPad to a Wireless Network
Press the iPad's 'Home' button to reach the iPad's home page of apps.
Click the 'Settings' app icon, which looks like gray gears.
Click 'Wi-Fi' to enter the iPad's wireless settings.
Touch the 'On/Off' selector switch on the top of the screen until it reads 'On.'
Select the wireless network that the iPad is to be connected to under 'Choose a Network...' It may take a few seconds for the networks to appear after turning on the wireless feature.
Enter the password for the network if prompted to do so, and select 'Join' to access that wireless network.

How to Use an iPad Without Wi
Tap 'Settings' on your home screen. You'll see a navigation sidebar on the left and a main settings pane on the right.
Tap 'Wi-Fi' on the sidebar.
Tap the 'Wi-Fi' switch on the right pane to toggle it 'Off.' Your iPad's Wi-Fi feature is now deactivated.
Confirm Wi-Fi has been turned off. Observe your taskbar at the very top of your screen. Your Wi-Fi icon beside 'ATT' or 'Verizon' should be replaced by '3G' or 'E.'

How to set up Gmail on your iPad (5 Steps)
Open the 'Settings' application from the iPad's home screen.
Choose the 'Mail, Contacts, Calendars' panel on the left of the settings menu.
Select 'Add Account' and choose the Gmail icon.
Enter your Gmail account information. You must include your full email address, for example: yourname@gmail.com.
Select 'Next' and choose 'Save' to complete the account adding process.

How to Set Up Microsoft Exchange Accounts on an iPad
Click the 'Home' button to arrive at the iPad's home screen.
Click the 'Settings' app icon to enter iPad settings.
Select the 'Mail, Contacts, Calendars' button and click this to enter the 'Mail' settings.
Click 'Add Account' to add a new mail account to the iPad.
Select 'Microsoft Exchange' to set up a new Exchange account.
Type in the Microsoft Exchange account information for the account being set up. This information will consist of an email address, domain (not mandatory), user name, password and a general description of the account.
Click 'Mail,' 'Contacts' and/or 'Calendars,' depending on which features need to be synced with the Exchange account.
