How to Hide Files in iPad (7 Steps)

Launch the App Store on your iPad and enter 'private files' in the search box.
Browse the apps that result from the search, or search for other terms if you do not like the results. 'Hidden files,' 'Hide files,' 'Secure files' and 'Private storage' will all bring up a variety of app options for hiding your files.
Read the app descriptions to see which apps are compatible with the file types you wish to store. Look for apps that offer high security such as a password that accepts numbers, letters and special characters rather than a four-digit PIN. Check the storage capacity for each app that interests you, which may be listed under 'cache size.' Choose the app that best suits your needs to store the files you want to hide.
Tap the price and then the 'Install' button, then enter your iTunes password to purchase, download and install the app.
Launch the secure file app you just downloaded and read any instruction files that come with it.
Import your files into the app. This may require using an 'Import' or similar button in the app. Alternately, you may need to open the file where it is currently stored and tap the Action button (the rectangle and arrow in the upper right corner) and select your file hiding app from the options that appear.
Open your file in the private app to confirm it is stored there, and then delete the file from its previous storage place if this did not automatically occur when you transferred the file.

How to Open Email Paper Clips

Open your email program and open the email that contains the attachment. There may be a small paper clip icon next to the email in the list. That one is just to tell you there is an attachment on the email, but you will need to open the email first to access the attachment.
Click the large paper clip icon on the individual email. The attachment may be sent through a virus scanner before becoming available, so you may need to wait a little bit before it opens. If you already have a program that can view it, it should open up. If you receive a warning such as 'blocked' or 'malicious program,' you shouldn't open it, because there is a danger of a virus. If you receive an error stating 'Windows can't open this file...' then you may need additional software or to set an association.
Look under the error message for the full file name of the attachment. The extension, or the part ofter the '.', will cue you in on the type of program required. .Jpg, .gif, .png, .jpeg and .tif require a graphics program. .Doc and .docx requires Microsoft Word or Open Office. .Xls requires Excel or Open Office. If in doubt, you can search Google for the extension to gain insight as to its requirements. Use the format '.ABC extension' in your search.
Click the circle next to 'Select a program from a list of installed programs' and click 'OK.'
Click the appropriate program, such as a graphics program, word processor, etc, and click 'OK' to open the file with the selected program. If you don't see the program, you can click 'Browse' to locate it manually in a Windows Explorer type setting. If you check 'Always use the selected program to open this kind of file' then Windows will remember your settings and use them next time it encounters the same file extension.
Associate a file type manually in Windows 7 by clicking the Start orb, typing 'Make a file type always open in a specific program' and pressing Enter. On the resulting screen, you can select the file extension and click 'Change program' at the top to change the associated program, similar to the previous step. This is also useful if you accidentally associate an inappropriate program with an extension.

How to Find a Stolen iPad

Retrace your steps. If your property has been broken into or you have been mugged, then clearly your iPad can be classified as stolen. However, if it goes missing under vague circumstances, first make sure that someone has indeed taken it. Go back to the place where you think it was stolen and look around. Someone might have found it and turned it in. Ask store cashiers and restaurant waiters if they have a lost and found storage area.
File reports. When you are certain it has been stolen, go into your local police precinct and file a report of theft. Because it is a non-emergency, the police will more than likely not come to the place where the iPad was stolen. Once you get a case number from the police, call your property or renters insurance company to see if they will cover the iPad. You can give them your case number as a reference.
Lock the device. Your iPad may contain contact information, credit card accounts and sensitive emails. With your MobileMe service through Apple, you can lock your phone so that the thief cannot access any of your information. You will have had to set up the device beforehand with the 'Find my iPad' feature. Go to the MobileMe website and sign in. Click on the device that you want to lock. The iPad's built-in GPS will show you the device's approximate location. If you have already set up a four-digit passcode, then type that code in. If not, you will be prompted to type in a four-digit code and password.
Go to the location on the GPS. After you lock your device, use the map as a guide to find where the iPad is. The GPS will only give you an approximate location. It might be in the same place where you think it was stolen. If you come in contact with the person who you believe stole your iPad, do not try to confront them on your own. Call local law enforcement for help.
