How to Connect iPads to Monitors (4 Steps)

Charge your iPad fully, particularly if you plan to use the Apple VGA adapter. The digital AV adapter features a space to plug in your iPad charger while using the monitor, but the VGA adapter does not. Either way, a fully charged iPad will allow you more flexibility to place your iPad where you can best use it with the external monitor.
Plug the appropriate adapter into your iPad's docking port.
Plug the appropriate connecting cable into the adapter's out jack and into your monitor or TV. Use an HDMI cable for the digital video adapter or a VGA cable for the VGA adapter.
Launch the appropriate app on your iPad. On the iPad 2, your display will appear on the external monitor as soon as you have it plugged in. On the original iPad, the display will appear on the monitor when you open an app that is compatible with external monitors.

How to Connect an Acer Monitor to a MacBook

Look at the ports on the left side of the MacBook and the back of the Acer monitor. A MacBook can be connected to an external monitor that has either a DVI or VGA port. The ports on the monitor will either be labeled or have a corresponding icon next to them. If you are unsure what an icon means, look in the 'Features' section of your user manual. Make sure your Acer monitor model has the correct port.
Plug one end of the connection cable into the monitor and the other end into the MacBook. If you are using a DVI cable connection, plug each end directly into each device. If you are using a VGA cable connection, you have to use the mini-DVI-to-VGA adapter that comes with your MacBook. Plug one end of the VGA cable into the VGA end of the adapter and insert the adapter DVI end into the laptop. Plug the other end of the VGA cable into the monitor.
Turn on both devices. After your MacBook powers up, it will automatically detect and display the desktop on both screens. Your Acer monitor is now ready for configuration.
Click on the 'Apple' icon on the top left corner of the desktop. From the drop-down list, select 'System Preferences' followed by 'Display.' A new 'Display' window will appear that has the available options that can be changed. For example, you can change the screen resolution of the Acer monitor, change the arrangement of the displays and whether you want to mirror the MacBook's display, or extend the desktop to the Acer monitor.

How to Edit Documents on an iPad (7 Steps)

Browse the iPad App Store for an app that allows you to edit the type of documents you need. Specific word processing editors include Pages for iPad and Doc2, while spreadsheet editing apps include Numbers or Sheet2. For a full-service productivity suite, try Documents to Go, Quickoffice Connect or Office2 HD. All of these apps can open and edit common Microsoft Office document formats, as well as limited other formatted documents. Each app offers different features, so read the app descriptions carefully before making your purchase.
Download and install the app of your choice on your iPad. If you currently use a cloud sharing service, such as Dropbox, SugarSync, iDisk or Box dot Net, download and install that service's app as well. Cloud service apps are usually free for existing accounts or limited size new accounts.
Move the file you wish to edit onto your iPad, either by emailing it to yourself, transferring it through iTunes and syncing your iPad to your computer or by uploading it into your cloud storage account and then downloading it to the iPad.
Tap the file to open it in the iPad's basic preview mode, and then tap the 'Open in' button to send the file to the editor app you installed.
Edit your document using common iPad gestures, such as double-tapping to select a word and dragging the selection handles to modify the highlighted selection. Replace selections by typing over them or insert text by tapping in your preferred insertion spot, then typing your new text. Press and hold your finger on the text to get precise cursor insertion through the magnification feature.
Save your changes with the app's 'Save' feature. Some apps, such as Pages, automatically save your work with each change, so you do not have a manual save option.
Send the edited document via email or restore it to your cloud service by tapping the action button (a rectangle with a curved arrow) and making your selection.
