How to Move an Apple Mail Accounts Folder to an External Hard Drive

Click the Macintosh HD folder. Locate and click the Users folder. The Users folder contain all the accounts you have created in your Mac computer. Each account will have their own series of folders, from 'Application Support' to 'Widgets.'
Click the gray arrow to the left of your username. A folder tree will expand, showing all the folders inside your Mac username. Click 'Library.' The library folder contains all the data stored inside an application. Each application has its own folder, and Mac automatically stores the data you create inside these folders.
Click the Mail folder, then locate your username. Double click your username and locate the specific account you want to move. If you want to move all the accounts from your Mail folder into the external hard drive, you can click 'Apple'-'X' to cut the folder.
Connect your external hard drive to your computer with the USB cord. The external hard drive will mount on your desktop. If your external hard drive needs drivers before you can use it, install the necessary drivers. Be careful when installing a hard drive that contains data since your computer might reformat the disk.
Double-click the external hard drive icon. Locate the folder inside the external hard drive where you want to move your mail account to. Double-click the folder and click 'Apple'-'V' to paste the folder in your external hard drive.
