How to Hook a MacBook to a TV (3 Steps)
Plug the Mini-DVI plug of the Apple Mini-DVI to Video adapter into the Mini-DVI port of the MacBook. Plug the S-video cable into the S-video port of the Apple Mini-DVI to Video adapter and then insert the other end of the S-video cable into the S-video port of the TV.
Plug the 3.5mm plug of the Mini-plug to RCA cable into the 'Audio Out' headphone port of the MacBook. Then plug the red and white RCA audio cables of the Mini-plug to RCA cable into the red and white ports of the TV. This lets the sound of the MacBook play from the TV.
Hold down both the 'Command' and 'F2' buttons to have your MacBook detect the TV. Adjust the image settings on the TV by going to the 'Display Panel' of the 'System Preferences,' just as you would when configuring the image settings on your MacBook.
