How to Turn Off the Trackpad Button on a Mac (3 Steps)
Click the 'Apple' icon in the computer's menu bar and select the 'System Preferences' option from the Apple menu.
Click the 'Trackpad' icon beneath the 'Hardware' heading to view the trackpad settings.
Remove the checkmark next to the 'Clicking' setting to disable the trackpad's ability to register taps as button presses.
