How to Connect a MacBook to a TV for Netflix (5 Steps)

Plug the male Mini DisplayPort end of the Mini DisplayPort-to-HDMI adapter into the Mini DisplayPort on the side of the MacBook computer.
Plug one end of the HDMI cable into the female HDMI port end of the Mini DisplayPort-to-HDMI adapter. Plug the other end of the HDMI cable into the HDMI port on the back of the television.
Click the 'Apple' icon in the computer's menu bar and select the 'System Preferences' option. Click the 'Displays' option listed beneath the 'Hardware' heading. Click the 'Arrangement' tab and place a check mark next to the 'Mirror' displays option. The MacBook computer's desktop will now be mirrored onto the television.
Open the computer's Web browser and navigate to the Netflix login page. Type your Netflix email address and password in the spaces provided and click the 'Continue' button to sign into your account.
Click on the instant stream movie you want to view on the television. Once the movie starts playing, click the 'Full Screen' button to have the movie appear full screen on the television.
